Partridge has not been announced as Ole Miss's defensive coordinator, which was the rumor because going from Michigan to Ole Miss without a promotion is a less than lateral move. You might also note that Lane Kiffin also hired DJ Durkin, because nothing in the world will prevent a football coach from getting a job.
Partridge's departure is a blow to Michigan, as he was reputed to be one of the better recruiters on the staff and did excellent work as Michigan's special teams coordinator in addition to his position coaching duties. He was Michigan's fourth-highest paid assistant behind the two coordinators and Ed Warinner.
Your guess is as good as anyone's as to who replaces Partridge. Devin Bush Sr would seem like a logical choice, FWIW.

The fact that Lane Kiffin keeps getting big time coaching opportunities mystifies me, He must be one hell of a great talker, who can convince people to do crazy shit. Like hire him. Or leave Michigan to work on his staff for however many months he’ll stick around.

I've been around long enough to see there are doers and talkers in the world - I'm sure we all see it in our own workplaces (I know I do). It amazes me how many times people can't see through somebody who is all talk.

Why do people respond with shock and horror whenever a non-OC/DC leaves for a promotion elsewhere? That's what all coaches do at every program. Relax. Patridge seemed like a very good recruiter. But there are others who can replace him.

What's strange here is that it would seem that Durkin will be the (real) DC. Is it really a promotion unless they are throwing a bunch more money at CP?

Losing Partridge doesn't help but it seemed inevitable. Hopefully his replacement can recruit as well and the staff composition can address the benefits he brought to our historically mediocre special teams. It wouldn't be the worst thing ever if we had a little, not too much, additional turnover to strengthen the overall recruiting abilities as there are a few folks that seem to be dead weight in that regard.

Maybe this story isn't over yet...like Dan Penos...... maybe Ole Miss is a holding spot for Partridge, that is, until a top program comes at him in the next month or so.

So Partridge was 38th overall recruiter in 2019 ? Seems odd based on his recent reputation, for I figured it'd be top 5.

I'm with Devin Bush Sr. We already have Campanile on staff for recruiting New Jersey. Bush Sr will get us into Florida. My guess is Bush Sr can coach as well as Partridge. What's to lose?

Harbaugh got in his face after Hudson offside in The Game n it snowballed to a lack of respect issue.
