Kris Frost news
Some Twitter Buzz. It seems good for Michigan.

We need a high 4 star in this class and Kris is the guy. We just need to sell him on playing WR first, becuase that is what he wants.
Go Blue Kris!

Get this kid on campus... but of course keep Denard first.../s
January 13th, 2011 at 1:08 PM ^
Man among boys good
January 13th, 2011 at 1:31 PM ^
Oops is it to soon?
January 13th, 2011 at 1:04 PM ^
He should have been on the phone last night trying to get this kid back. Either position he plays (although i hope it's LB) will be a help to us. Some higher being is trying to tell this kid something... Go to MICHIGAN!! haha
January 13th, 2011 at 1:13 PM ^
From what I understand...which may not be much, a school can only make contact with a recruit once a week, and I believe Michigan had some stand-in reps contacting recruits the week the coaching vacancy took place. So I'm thinking that's why Hoke called off the weekend. He has to wait on some guys before he can speak with them. WE DON'T WANT TO THE NCAA POKING THEIR NOSE AROUND AGAIN. Let's just hope these kids don't panic and jump ship due to negative news reports that are circling about this hire and no immediate contact from Hoke.

I did realize that after I posted, although i should have edited. Sometimes I get caught up in the thread and don't use my head. appoligies for stupidity.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:26 PM ^
You are allowed to call/write during a dead period, there's just no in person recruiting.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:30 PM ^
What he said.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:05 PM ^
Hopefully Kris can hold off on making a decision until the recruiting dead period ends tomorrow.......
I'd have to think with Hoke being a former linebacker himself, he should be able to sell Frost rather easily.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
i dont get on hear alot, and my 3 kids tell me im gay for bloging they tell me i should just go talk to old peeps on facebook. WE WILL get frost he has wanted to come here for life Denard got here cuzzzzz,
January 13th, 2011 at 1:29 PM ^
U are right we do need 2 more guards, we almost played our best game of the year last night. Morgan played his best ever, and only going to get better. The guards are the ones getting wore out.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:37 PM ^
We need guards because Morris will be a Junior and the others will be seniors by the time these guys enroll.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:49 PM ^
why did u reply to a post about kris frost by talking about BB players? wtf..
January 13th, 2011 at 2:24 PM ^
He was confused. He doesn't get on hear alot.
January 13th, 2011 at 4:24 PM ^
No big deal
January 13th, 2011 at 4:25 PM ^
I agree, I hope Frost waits until coach Hoke can talk to him. I think Hoke will be able to bring him to AA.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:06 PM ^
Has Hoke started reaching out to potential recruits yet or is he focused on his coaching staff? This kid would be a huge pull and give me a little happiness in the middle of three weeks of dread.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:14 PM ^
I believe there is a dead period right now where coaches can't contact recruits. I think it ends tomorrow but I don't know the exact time.
So he should be focusing on coaches so that once this dead period ends he can hit the recruiting trail.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:18 PM ^
...is on in person visits. Phone calls and emails are permitted.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
Gotcha, thanks. I don't know much about recruiting so I figured I was missing something.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:25 PM ^
This is correct, as far as I know
January 13th, 2011 at 1:20 PM ^
I hope Brady Hoke pulls a Jim Schwartz and is waiting outside Kris Frost's door waiting for the dead period to end.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:06 PM ^
We, on this site, are constantly scouring the internets for any shred of recruiting info.
Can we assume Hoke/Michigan and the recruting department are doing the same?
I would hope so.
As soon as they saw that... they should be on the phone with Frost or at least someone in his camp(after the dead period).
January 13th, 2011 at 1:10 PM ^
He is going to call the committed kids first. I would assume that he would have to watch recruiting videos on each of the players and learn something about them before calling them so he can speak intelligently about why he wants them at Michigan.
I don't know how long that will take in addition to securing the rest of his staff, recruitng Denard, and meeting the rest of the players. I hope he gets there soon.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:16 PM ^
I hope that seeing as hoke was previously a head coach he has already seen some film on this kid before he arrived in AA. It's not like frost is a unknown. Pitch the reciever aspect to get his attention but tell him we need LBs, he's a monster, and oh yeah GO BLUE!
January 13th, 2011 at 1:07 PM ^
I've heard that UNC might be Frost's second choice behind Auburn at this point, but maybe he can be Hoke-oiled.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:09 PM ^
A week ago it was his dream to play at Michigan and he was a 99.9% lock to come here; now we're not even his second choice? Considering his passion for Michigan seemed to be evident throughout his recruitment, you'd think Hoke could convince him to join on.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:17 PM ^
True, but he doesn't know ANYONE at the University anymore, except maybe Chris Singletary. That's got to be a little disconcerting for an 18-year-old.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:23 PM ^
could be a holdover.
January 13th, 2011 at 2:00 PM ^
Most kids don't know anyone at the University before they enroll.
January 13th, 2011 at 2:23 PM ^
Weird.
And here I thought coaches built up relationships with recruits for a reason.
I guess those two or three years of recruitment don't mean anything, huh?
January 13th, 2011 at 6:24 PM ^
My first time on campus at Michigan as a Grad student I knew a couple kids that were enrolled in the school (players on the team) met the dean (head coach) and knew the people on the acceptance committee (assistants and recruiters). And who cares where I went so for sure they know a lot of familiar faces when they arrive.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:09 PM ^
That sounds gross.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:28 PM ^
I haven't heard the same about UNC. I think Michigan will still be in good position.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:52 PM ^
Well, I sure hope you're right and I'm wrong.
January 13th, 2011 at 2:18 PM ^
I'll trust Tom's info before anyone else's
January 13th, 2011 at 2:36 PM ^
...doesn't really roll off the tongue does it? Maybe "Hoke-tied"?
January 13th, 2011 at 3:46 PM ^
Hoke-fied.....

January 13th, 2011 at 1:06 PM ^
can we potentially give props to a SEC team for not oversigning?
January 13th, 2011 at 1:58 PM ^
maybe while we are at it we can give them props for not murdering people?
January 13th, 2011 at 1:07 PM ^
Is it too late for early enrollment at UM?
January 13th, 2011 at 1:07 PM ^
I think he has until January 21.
January 13th, 2011 at 1:12 PM ^
Either way early 20's in January. Still enough time.
January 13th, 2011 at 3:53 PM ^
Missing the first three weeks of the semester is a tough way to enter your first semester of college, though. I expect he won't be EE if he comes. It's probably in his best interest too.
