Star Rankings
Not to send anyone off the deep end, wait check that, this is totally written to send someone off the deep end. I propose that the next time someone posts about tha star rankings of a guy, we retire Mike Hart and Braylon Edwards were 3 stars and we go straight to Patrick Omameh was a 2 star it doesn't matter!!!! Too bad Seinfeld is gone the board would have been going nuts with: I love the Drake, hate the Drake, Drake is bad, I thought we loved the Drake??
one of the WLA members has a good cut and paste that deals with the 2 and 3 star argument. I would prefer seeing that everytime someone brings up Pat White and Mike Hart's star rankings.
its awesome that omameh came in as a 2 star with some 4-6 3 and 4* star o-lineman in his class and he's probably going to be one of the first two to see significant playing time.

established that star rankings don't matter. What matters is crowd noise, what time of day the games are played, hip hop videos, and lazer light shows.

What about, at the end of the tunnel, the players run out onto the field through a giant inflatable wolverine that roars when they come through?

it's worth at least 14 points per game.

what about fireworks and a touchdown cannon

dropping the ball. I guess I won't be seeing playing time as a punt returner.

its just a little to early to anoint him the next great exception. He might be a starter, but he hasn't started a game yet. Until we see him pancake an all-conference DL, I think we have to resist the urge.

I would be happy if there was never another discussion about whether star rankings matter or not.

Magnus.
Sorry couldn't resist.

....of the statistical opus our engineering friend Bleedin9Blue is recruiting volunteers for in the Diaries.
On that note, I wonder if he's only recruiting 5 star statistics geeks for the project, or if he'll take a flyer on a 3 star like me.

knows what he is doing. If he has evaluated you, you fit his system and he goes with you, I trust his judgment.

Yeah, getting pHD offers from schools like Harvard, MIT and CalTech is way more important than what some random stats nerds think about your skills.

....the "coach" of the stats project thinks you fit his statistical "system," then it really doesn't matter what your offer list is.
Are you trying to say that the fact that I'm sitting at a computer collecting tens-of-thousands of data points and will spend hours analyzing them instead of going outside and doing something (like playing football) is indicative that I am not athletic enough to play D-I level football? And that anyone helping me is probably in the same situation?
If so... then you're definitely right (at least about me, I can't speak for anyone that might happen to help me).
...you gain at least one star by putting on the maize and blue baby! And you lose one by putting on scarlet and gray. You lose like four at Notre Dame these days it seems.
