let's get this guy! More snake oil in the state of Indiana!

Rivals did say he's disappointed that Lynch was fired and that he's having second thoughts. He's probably worth a shot.

Can we really expect to get a guy who just de-committed b/c the coach was fired... before the bowl game/DB makes a decision?

I get what you're saying, but it's not exactly like that. A lot of times, good athletes choose schools like Indiana for a particular coach, because things like prestige, history, likelihood of success and playing on national TV often aren't really offered. However, that same player might pick school like Michigan because of all the things we offer other than the coach, the things I mentioned above that will all be here no matter who the coach is. Plus he's from Michigan, so there's that.
All that said, do we even want him?

i think we do, considering he's listed as a cornerback on scout (lord knows we need those)
and i think that the four stars given to him by rivals says something too.

I'm sure the coaches noticed Rivals gave him four stars. Maybe if Scout will bump him up and give him that fourth star, RR and company will really turn the heat up on this kid.

Considering we haven't offered him, I think that's more telling than how many stars he has. And he's little. I'd rather have Daren Kitchen if we're talking about Plan B cornerbacks.

sell michigan not the coach

More defensive players = better!

I believe we were just starting to heat up on recruiting him when he committed to Indiana. That being said Countess is a better player and will be the last CB taken in this class barring a surprise 5 star wanting to commit.

Michigan will look at his senior film and decide if they will offer him. Could could be solid at the slot or cornerback more likely, but he's not a real stud at either spot yet.
Considering Michigan is still on Countess, Walls, and Kitchen if they want him, I think Taylor is a plan B type.

So we recruit everyone and see who commits.
My opinion FWIW.

I think that just as in college admission in general, the college athlete has to have a good fit with the University. In looking at schools, there were some that I liked, but when I got on campus, the vibe was just all wrong. I never felt that way on the University of Michigan campus.
David Brandon is trying to make sure that the recruits love Michigan, the campus, the academics, the facilities, and oh yea, the football coaches. I truly believe that he wants the name on the head coaches door to be secondary to the Wings on the helmet. He is building brand loyalty, not coach loyalty. That way no matter what happens, we will have a strong team.
In the same way, by waiting, Brandon is allowing the fan base to calm down, be more rational and be able to say that they will accept what is best for the University. I know that I have supported RR until I am blue in the face and I am now at the point that I'm tired of arguing, I will accept whatever Brandon decides because first and foremost I am a Michigan man.

Raymon Taylor reminds me of James Rogers.
So take that for what it's worth.
