Kudos to RR: 7-3

Submitted by MGrether on

For all the crap that has happened this off season, there are 1000 reasons why this season could have completely gone into the tanks. From losing 3 recruting classes worth of Secondary players, to the NCAA investigation, all the questioning about his job, continual rotation of injuries... RR has our boys 7-3 with a garunteed winning season and a bowl game.

This is not where we want to be as a final product. It has not been pretty. However, these are steps in the right direction of getting there, and I am looking forward to seeing the product that steps out onto the field in 2011-2012, and us making a run for the first championship in the new Big X(II).

Now, let's get our heads wrapped around Wisconsin coming to town next Saturday, and the chance for an 8 win season!

and I enjoy living it.

Offense: Carr---Perry, Huyge, Schilling, Koger (Lloyd recruit), Hemmingway, Molk(Lloyd recruit), Stonum(Lloyd recruit). Please get your point right if you are going to talk down to people. That is why this board is becoming a laughingstock. People on this board sound just like the ones of GBW, brainwashed fools who believe one thing and anyone who opposes that view is not "All In" or a "hater".

Again, reality of the suituation is we have beat 1 team in 3 years in the Big Ten with a winning record. Wake me when we beat a team that is worth a crap. Hell even crappy Purdue last season beat a team they had no right being on the field with.

I will take the win, good for us, we are 7-3, lets see how we do the next two v good competition.

if you expected any team since 2008 to be legitimately good. This board has spent ample time explaining why this team could have possibly fallen off after 2007, yet you're too busy to read it. So please take some time from Imaginationland to educate yourself before continuing to post, or just stop posting.

FYI, both Big Ten victories in 2008 (Wisconsin and Minnesota) were teams with winning records. Please get your point right if you are going to talk down to people [1].

Also, Minnesota was 3-5 in the Big Ten in 2008, so that means Michigan has beaten 0 Big Ten teams with winning Big Ten records since 2008. So your post is still wrong.

Rather than bicker back and forth about it, I would like you to rebuild your point total and make a diary that details what exactly "real insiders and people who coach and are around the program" say about the program. A recorded interview or podcast would be great material to share with the sheep that mindlessly follow Brian, and are thus uneducated. Or start your own blog, which seeks to educate people about the truth regarding how the program is really coming along since it is clear that Misopogon's Decimated Defense diaries must too be misguided.

Finally, with regards to Dave Brandon looking at how Rich Rodriguez has never beaten a Big Ten team with a winning record... doesn't progress matter to him? Where the team is headed, the projected winning level in 1-2 years? The fact that the offense loses only a single decent offensive lineman from the starting lineup, and the defense is playing 9 freshmen in the 2-deep means there is a lot of reason to think the team will continue to improve in the next couple years. That should verify that Dave Brandon's comments of being in full support of Rich Rodriguez are indeed valid. The only thing I can imagine keeping Michigan from improving is if players keep leaving; perhaps one of your "real insiders" can tell us whether or not someone in the coaching staff is the source of this.

though I did say in the first post I could be wrong on Minnesota.

I've ran in the same circles as Sam Webb, who I consider to be a real insider. I met him in Akron at a 7-on-7 when he was there to watch Bryce McNeal, Corey Brown, and the Bell kid from PA. I talk to coaches that breakdown the film and then review it, not just a person who runs a blog (who does a pretty darn good job).

I didn't say Brian doesn't do good work, he does, but I don't share his same perspective, and everyone that reads his info doesn't either. A lot of people who enjoy his information stay away from this board because of the atmosphere on the boards.

You don't think RR is at all responsible for the attrition that has occured under him?

I would encourage you to check out GBMW if you want people who give you a real objective analysis,

Is anyone else picturing Chris Farley in Billy Madison?

He follows recruiting well, but he doesn't have a lot more inside knowledge than a lot of people on this site. And he's a far bigger homer than Brian. Webb's a good guy, and a good supporter, but there are a LOT of people who know more about Michigan Football than him.

Without suggesting that the last 2 seasons were good, or that this one is great, when viewed objectively, for the sake of perspective I just want to observe that since 1983, USC has had 4 .500 seasons and 3 losing seasons.  I think our numbers are 1 and 2.

I don't really know what this is meant to prove, other than we should be more grateful for what we have, or more appreciative of how hard it is to win consistently, or more hopeful that we're not all that far off the top again, or yeah things can go from great to awful back to great (and back again) pretty quickly, or something like that.

Or maybe it really doesn't prove anything at all other than that I have too much time on my hands.

we won the game, not with the way we won it. Can you please learn to use some language other then that of a 15 year-old who thinks it is cool to curse in front of his friends. You have yet to add anthing with substance, at least bring up a point.

I am being objective and looking at the big picture, not at just today.

What is the average IQ score of the people on this board? Attack me because I don't share your same views.

I am happy we won, a win is a win, but we just beat one if not the worst team in the conference at this point and time. I am not doing flips over this win.

In one more semester I will have my masters in athletic administration, from my perspective I tend to look at things the way an AD would. Would DB be happy about this win, sure. Would he be going around acting like we won the super bowl, doubt it. You see AD's look at things through a much different complex perspective; much like a business model. The ultimate big picture is what DB is looking at, and if you think that he is not looking at the fact we have beat just 1 team with a winning record in the big ten, then you are nuts.

Like I said, in two weeks when the season is over I will be very interested to see how DB feels about our season.

we should have never went 3-9 or 5-7.

Think about it like this, if you were the AD and you were hiring someone three years ago would you really hire them if they said it will take 4 years to make you respectable? Tell that to Pete Carrol, Tressel,Bob Stoops,Urban Meyer, Mack Brown. If Rich really was amonst the elite then why is he not producing like the elite?

BTW, I am going to call your supervisor at walmart and tell him you are on the computer during work if you don't watch the language.

Let me get this straight: you're attempting to impress us with your impending master's degree, your superior knowledge about athletic department business models, and your sophisticated grasp of the big picture. You regard MGoBlog as a laughingstock, and you're implying that MGoBloggers collectively don't have a high IQ.

Yet for some odd reason you're still posting comments here. Why are you wasting your tremendous intellect and insight? I would think that someone who was truly serious about athletic department administration would regard posting comments on sports blogs populated by people clearly beneath his intellectual prowess as a tremendous waste of time.

No my perspective comes from playing at the next level, working in an athletic department for 4 years, from working combines for scout, and plus the pending degree where I work directly with AD's across Virginia, WV, and North Carolina.

I know people who love this board who are lawyers, docs, etc. but they tend not to post because of perspectives like your buddies. If someone has a differing opinion they get labeled "hater" "troll" or not "All In" whatever that is supposed to mean. Then they get to curse themout like they are real cool people and then people on here feed on it and think it is the way you are supposed to interact on message boards. This board has become much like GBW, but I thought I would give it a try since there is good info put on here by tom and brian. Just a shame the posters aren't as tolerant as the intelligent fan base claims to be.

Is it really that much fun to have every poster say the same thing 300 verbatim

we use on another board for people who can't seem to carry on a conversation on another board.

I am a fan, love UM, but I love them enough to look at things from an objective perspective of what is best for the program in the long term.

Plus my bank accout says different everymonth when Michigan takes money out of it.

I have to jump in here.  You are not being "intelligent". You are being a troll.  There are MANY people here who have voiced MANY negative opinions about RichRod, Greg Robinson, and the team in general.  If it's done in an INTELLIGENT manner, it is absolutely tolerated.

You came into the "congrats RichRod" an hour after a win to piss in everyone's cheerios, which is why you are getting negged into oblivion.  Oh, we're not as good as we were under Carr? Thanks for the insider info, future AD.  All of your argiements have been hashed, re-hashed and re-re-hashed literally 1000 times for the past 2 years.  We haven't beaten good teams.  Our standards are lower. We get it.

We won a road game in the Big Ten in November.  This has generally been a difficult thing for Michigan to do, even under Carr.  If you're a fan, take some time to actually enjoy it.  I'm sure that's what our AD is doing right now.

Should guarantee you an internship at a division 3 school. Not sure why you don't think there are those with the same or better degrees on here. And people who know more people in the athletic department than you do. You might just be comparing your dick size at a porn star convention.

There's no need for you to tell us about your administration degree that you're currently persuing at Monroe community college. You're previous post here give us a sound idea already of what kind of doucher you are.

Just shut the fuck up. You need to enjoy the wins and stop looking at all the stats, the game is played on the field, in which we just won. If you just look at stats explain to me how NW beat Iowa, or Minn beat ILL, this is football you celebrate the wins you bitch about the losses, we won so be happy, asshole

Dr. Saturday put it best:

All things considered, any game in which you wrap up a winning season and all but assure your beleaguered head coach will still have a job in 2011 is a good one.

Also, Trolls- bite me.

Looks like the haters are coming out in force - just take it as a sign of our success...haters gonna hate - no point in getting exercised over it
