Now Purdue and to even up our Big Ten record.

who also did a silent cheer of "we're #7! we're #7!" ? being at the bottom of the standings has been the suck lately

To be honest, I stopped looking at the standings once I knew I had to see Sparty sitting up there above us. I do like seeing 2-3. When I see that, I forget the epic problems on defense and it looks like we're an okay football team.

because it's still called the BIg Ten, and, wish-fulfilling math being what it is, you can easily forget there are 11 teams and say, wow! We're right up there in the middle!

Nooooes, Minnesota cannot become bowl eligible. Six Geauxfer fans are crying somewhere.

.ARod, Pettite, Clemens, Giambi(s),..
Joking aside, been looking forward to the asterisk for a long time...

that those will be the final standings. i see illinois winning out, northwestern losing their next 3, purdue dropping their next 3, and Indiana/minnesota remaining dredge.
Texas Bowl here we come
November 7th, 2010 at 12:57 AM ^
......that we will beat Purdue and lose to Wisky and tOSU and end up at 7-5. I can then see us being tied for 7th. Even if we by some chance beat both Purdue and Wisky, but lose to tOSU, we end up at 4-4 in the league and Texas Bowl. Now that I've looked at it, we pretty much have to win out to have a even a shot at the Gator bowl. Probably not gonna happen.

Anywhere but Detroit... please god, anywhere but Detroit.

just in case. given the fact a Big Ten team will likely be sent, i'll definitely at least cover the investment (or sell for a butt ton to a NW fan who wants to sit on the 50)
November 7th, 2010 at 7:45 AM ^
I am guessing that a butt ton is slightly more than 2,000 lbs. Sounds like a lot of cash.

This is like finally making the NCAA tourney 2 years ago. That's how I feel today. Right now, I don't care what bowl. We're going bowling! Now next year, well the expectations are for a nice warm climate!! Dang this is a good day!
November 7th, 2010 at 1:07 AM ^
missing Minny the past 2 years. Can you imagine the amount of heat that would have been taken off this team with a bowl last year and having 7 wins right now instead of 6?
November 7th, 2010 at 2:37 AM ^
The heat of a thousand suns!

A win like today is amazing, but knowing that I will be watching Michigan play sometime after 11/27 makes the day so so sweet.

Is that I'm in France for the year and my family has already made plans to spend the holidays here. *Sigh*
Also, did anyone catch that Mark Schlabach projected us into a New Year's Day bowl (well, kind of) last week, with Andrea Adelson giving that spot to Illinois? Maybe we'll have consensus from them on that to dream about for the next two weeks.

Nice thing about college football is that any team can beat any other team on any given Satty. M has a shot to both win or lose the rest of their games. Can't wait to see this offense paired with a better defense. We'll be like Oregon but with better uniforms.

What does strike me is that UM will play/has played everyone above them in the rankings and will miss two of the 4 teams below them (NW and Minny). Those are probably 2 more potential wins.
