No one from the Michigan Defense........amazing.
Really hope to have someone on here for defense in the next couple years though.

No one from Ohio State either

I noticed that as well. Kind of shocking considering they were the #1 team last week.

Kellen Moore? If Denard kept playing cupcakes he would rack up even more yardage. This Boise State BS needs to end

could potentially have 3 All-Americans :(
October 20th, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
It would be interesting to see if they had a third team.
Its all speculative, but i can't argue witht he QBs either. Keep in mind none of us expected to see DROB to even be as high on the list as he is.

I dont know if it's because I haven't paid enough attention to the Badgers this year and I know he was BTOPOTY last year but second team All-American this year?
October 20th, 2010 at 2:10 PM ^
It's a total overreaction to last weeks game. The guy was losing his hold on the starting job but he's an all american? Weak.

I was worried that I didnt research enough before my answer but glad to see someone see it the same way I do. White has been a more intrical part of that offense if you ask me.

And not just that - Wiscy has 4 players total on both lists, including a couple of offensive linemen. I know that they upset OSU, but this was the same running unit that was somewhat-maligned for close wins/losses to ASU and MSU not too long ago.
October 20th, 2010 at 4:09 PM ^
With five each, Oregon and Wiscy together contribute almost 20% of the 52 players listed.

Manti Te'o a 2nd team pick? I thought we had him dominated?

They said on TV he was 3rd in the nation in tackles per game a week ago, so he must be doing something right.

But no freshmen. Funny how that works.

Just kind of a weird list. Can't take immense issue with too many choices, but mostly because after 6-7 games (and the bulk of those against weak OOC competition), it is difficult to figure out who is legitimately good and who is simply the beneficiary of a favorable schedule. For example, I think Cam Newton is a good QB, but he hasn't faced an above-average outside of Miss St. team, in which he was held to 136 yds passing (2TD/1INT) and 70 yds rushing on 18 carries. So yeah, he lit up some bad defenses, but calling him the 2nd best QB in the country based on incomplete evidence is an exercise in hyperbole.

Mike Martin is a fine player. Probably not here because of the on-field company he keeps.
October 20th, 2010 at 2:27 PM ^
an O-Lineman would at least make second team, but oh well
October 20th, 2010 at 2:32 PM ^
Utah has a punt returner named Shaky Smithson. That's awesome.
October 20th, 2010 at 2:34 PM ^
Michigan is averaging over 280 yards a game on the ground, they have a top 5 offense, and they have allowed only three sacks. And not one O-lineman gets even honorable mention?
October 20th, 2010 at 2:58 PM ^
it's not the OL, it's DR and the scheme, which compensates for average players. don't you know that by now?
October 20th, 2010 at 4:03 PM ^
There was no "honorable mention" list.

Look at the lack of any OSU players as well. Does this say something about them in the eyes of the national media? Think so. At least the idea of another team even if it is MSU winning the Big Ten this last year beats OSU winning it again.
