I thought it was a Candian Maple Leaf. So no. Not a fan. Bring back the Big Blue!

To the thunderbirds, great thought but I like their normal uniforms i think they look pretty good

The tribute idea is cool and the jersey is decent but the helmets are horrible!
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:23 PM ^
...how highly evolved.

My first thought was XFL. Expected to se HEHATEME on the back.

Thank you for reminding me of him. +1

They look like NFL all-pro game uniforms. Not a fan.

Thunderbird squad. I saw them in 2008 at the Dayton Air Show with my father. They do some amazing routines!

slowed-down equivalent of Denard Robinson.
October 2nd, 2010 at 3:07 PM ^
Those are hideous, and why pay "tribute" to a demonstration team? Why not a tribute to a WWII squadron?
October 2nd, 2010 at 3:10 PM ^
at Wright Patterson they did a formation in a barrel roll with a P-51 Mustang leading the nose. It was so cool to see that plane in the sky in real life.
October 2nd, 2010 at 3:17 PM ^
Went to Thunder Over Michigan @ Willow Run this summer. They had a couple of P-51's flying. Even a P-51 B (a pretty rare plane). The best was the 7 B-17s and a B-24 flying aound the air space. They didn't do any tricks, obviously, but was cool to see those old birds take off and fly.

planes to see in the air. I can't imagine how terrifying it must of been to be in the sky in one of those things flying through flak blasts, anti-aircraft guns and other enemy fighters. Those men were such a corageous bunch of pilots and gunners.
October 2nd, 2010 at 3:21 PM ^
Ugly. Don't like them. Helmets are hideous.
October 2nd, 2010 at 3:22 PM ^
They shoulda done something like this!

Awww, little twinkly stars. Cute for a service that does all their fighting sitting down :)
October 2nd, 2010 at 5:15 PM ^
sound like a Civilian...so STFU
October 2nd, 2010 at 7:00 PM ^
I'm a civilian now, yes. And I don't feel like shutting up.
October 2nd, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
Speaking as a former Air Force guy, don't pretend you're not jealous. :).
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:14 PM ^
I'll just say this: the coloring looks good on the planes ;)
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:23 PM ^
you run a freaking virginia blog..wtf pick a school/team
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:06 PM ^
speaking as an active duty AF munitions troop for over 9 yrs , you Sir are a douche, ask many a marine or soldier how many times their ass has been saved by an AF jet providing close air support, and you will learn the AF doesnt fight this war sitting down. Since you are a civilian i repeat you can STFU at any time.

Aww, a little sensitive, are we? Sorry I hurt your precious Chair Force feelings. If this is your first encounter with inter-service rivalry, then it might be time to join the real world.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:20 PM ^
couldn't hack it in the armed service. I know all about inter-service rivalry, but you are a civilian, meaning you don't get to partake.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:32 PM ^
"Couldn't hack it"....LOL
I'll participate as much as I want to, civilian or not. If the Air Force is the kind of service for you that you'd rather forget about and pretend you were never in it after you left, sorry to hear it. But it sounds like you could use a little more of it from all directions so you don't get so sensitive about it.
And I definitely don't need to justify my fanhoods to you, either.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:42 PM ^
I am still active duty, pretty sure I never pretended anything, So your comments matter not. I do find it funny the you are a "michigan fan" yet run a virginia blog..what ever man..run along to you awesome virginia blog douche
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:42 PM ^
If my comments "matter not" then why did you spend all this time compaining about them?
October 2nd, 2010 at 5:19 PM ^
I saw a player's back and saw "Freedom". I thought, wow, what an awesome name for a player for Air Force. Then I saw another player's back and thought, cool, there are brothers playing for Air Force. Then I noticed that everyone's name seemed to be Freedom, and as someone who served in the Navy, I was just even more bummed. It looks like the time I got really drunk and created a team on NCAA '10.
October 2nd, 2010 at 11:34 PM ^
At least one of their players was "Service." I wonder how they choose which players got to be Freedom and which ones got to be Service.
October 2nd, 2010 at 10:28 PM ^
With the exception of the helmets, I thought the uniforms were pretty cool. The Thunderbirds fly over every Air Force Academy Graduation and are pretty well tied into the Academy, so that could have been why they decided to go with a Thunderbird theme for the uniforms.
It's more likely that the same drunk monkeys that pick out Oregon's uniforms week by week got unleashed at Air Force.

Helmets looked that way bc thats what the Thunderbirds helmets actually look like. Loved the whole uni.
