I am coming up for the MSU game
The wife and I will be getting to AA at around 1:30 on Friday for the MSU game. I have reservations for The Gandy Dancer that evening, the game on Saturday, and the Big House Tour for Sunday then we fly out that afternoon.
I come to you MGoBoard for suggestions of things that are musts during our stay in AA. I came up for the Purdue game last year and walked around campus a lot and ate at Blimpy Burger as suggested by the board. We also managed to get into Schembechler Hall and get pics of all of the trophies etc... We walked the Diag and got some great pics of campus. We went to the MDen of course. We also ran into Brandon Minor at Bennigans after the loss to Purdue and got some cool pics with him. I have to say he was a really nice guy and I wish him the best. Seems like a tough trip to top.
I ask you what are the musts for the wife and I on this visit? Where should we go to tailgate before the game (I am 33 and she is 25)? Your suggestions are much appreciated.

...Geaux Bleu's mighty fine work, all of these threads are located in the User-Curated MGoHallofFame which is conveniently located in the "Useful Stuff" menu at top right.
I encourage all to use it as a resource, but also to add to it as you see fit. Thanks to Brian for creating this MGoWiki feature.

I would suggest some Sangria @ Dominick's on Friday before dinner or sometime Saturday.

I second the sangria. Dominick's is an A2 classic.

I also recommend "The Infinite Buzz", but make sure you have plenty of friends to share it with.

i've got bad memories of their sangria. It's fine, but the hangover was murder.

I really hope you didn't start dating her when you were in high school

I'm flying in for that game as well. Did they announce a game time? I'm on a plane at 7am to be safe.

Great, I'm taking a 6am flight for no reason. I'm going to need a denard-hour-energy drink when I arrive.

Can't wait for next Saturday to be back in AA.

"UP" get you to AA?
North != UP
Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine.

North != Up, unless you're looking at a map.

Go to Pizza Bob's (814 State Street). Convenient location. Cheap. Best milkshakes in town, by far. Killer sub: The Favorite. The place is tiny. I suggest carrying the food to the game or, better yet, eating it in the Law Quad, which is a very short walk away, and which is a fantastic spot.

I worked at Pizza Bob's. Don't go to Pizza Bob's. We literally used the cheapest dough and cheese and other ingredients available. PB finished last in both the Michigan Daily's Pizza and Sub sandwiches, for all of campus.
Unless she really likes Chipotes (i.e. a cheap salad inside a pita), and then you can get a better one (if not the original) at Pizza House.
If you haven't had Zingerman's before (the deli, not the Roadhouse), I recommend that. Also: if you're lucky enough to find Casa Dominick's open, definitely sit down and get a jar of sangria.
But no on the Pizza Bob's -- Pizza Bob's is just a campus tradition of traditionally bad food.

Pizza Bob's is by far the worst pizza I have ever had in Ann Arbor, period. In my seven years there I've had some poor pizzas but they all pale in comparison to the pie I had at Pizza Bob's. I'd rather eat 5-hour old pizza from under the lamp at St. Peppers or Diag Party Store. Granted I've never had their subs or shakes but defintiely don't eat the pizza.

If I'm reading your post correctly, you were not a student at Michigan, am I correct? Or at least, your wife was not, which is why you took the campus pics, etc. last year, and why you are asking us for the advice.
If that is the case, I think you should walk up State Street (that great street) all the way to Packard and take a look at the student parties there. The massive sea of maize shirts is a sight, as are the sounds from thousands of students getting ready for the game. It will probably make you wish you were in college again.
Also, if you time it right, you can go see the drumline step show in front of Revelli. I have no idea what time it is, but I believe it's about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before gametime. I've never been, but everyone says it's a great show.
Hope I helped, and I wish you a great weekend!

I was hoping you were a recruit.
