Bacari Alexander fired
Disappointing for the former Beilein assistant but not surprising. Only won 16 games in 2 years and had that weird suspension earlier this year. Interesting to see the difference between his career trajectory and Lavall Jordan. Hope he lands on his feet somehwere.

That's one of the reasons pro sports rankles a certain group of people. It is nearly impossible to completely dictate to players who have financial freedom. With that money comes some power, and some people don't like that dynamic.
At least the sentiment did not come to fruition

Or did it?
1. We don't know what prompted Bacari to say such a thing. Was it just out of the blue? Or was the kid just not getting something in practice and not paying attention so Bacari thought something like that would wake the kid up?
2. Is this type of talk something Bacari routinely used with players? Was he like RichRod's staff that loved yelling at kids as a hobby? Nothing I've seen suggests it was his style to rip his players with salty sentences.
3. Basketball is about trash talking. Yeah, a coach said something distasteful to the kid during practice but I surely can't believe it's the first time the kid has heard anything bad about while on the court. Life is tough. Sometimes someone says something to you that is inconsiderate or rude. Grow some thick skin (which many in today's PC culture and on campuses do not have.)
4. Bacari had to produce and he didn't. Thus why he got fired. Good luck to U of D and finding someone to turn the program around.
