Dwarfs Izzo

What else ya got?

14-1 postseason last two years

4 of 6 last Sweet Sixteens

3 trips to Round of Eight last six years

2 of last 6 Final Fours

One national championship game (opponent win vacated)

Winning record over Izzo from third year when he had his own players

3-0 last three games over MSU with 50-point total margin of victory

Two Big Ten Conference championships

Won last two B1G tourneys (8-0)

Tied for second-most tourney wins (15) since 2013 after North Carolina (with 16)

EDIT: Changed "Great Eight" to Round of Eight because of readers' aesthetic objections (I'd swear it used to be called that). And accept two criticisms: first, Izzo's accomplishments are considerable, starting with an NC; and two, that rubbing in Michigan's supremacy now may lack a certain gallantry. Have to admit, though, that I am still burning at the news from MSU, including where Izzo is concerned. And I am motivated in putting together the above list not just by his detractors there but here; the criticism of Beilein, when it strayed to calls for his firing, have been stupid as h*ll. If there are items that might be added to it, please let me know.

Yeah, because big brothers spend a lot of time compiling lists of why they’re better than their little brothers.
Some of you are so afraid of being inferior that you can’t help acting inferior.

in a desperate move to get clicks, so we all have our little. . . peccadillos. I have seen your little lists here and there, they are kind of a sports thing. I didn't think that the Beilein record in all its seriousness had been assembled in one place, so was trying to do that. I will admit, I am not all up in people's jocks sniffing out their measurables. . . some people see a certain. . . littleness in that kind of behavior, too. And I am most definitely incensed, as the father of a 14-year-old girl, at what Izzo has gotten away with. But someone with tits on their blog may not see that the same way. . .

Using your daughter as an excuse for an obsession with Izzo is weak and bringing her into this conversation does her a disservice.  I mean there are a million actual predators out there who must incense you since you have a 14-year-old-girl, do you obsess over them?  Or is your obsession really about a history of not liking him for other reasons?

I don't understand.  Why all the Izzo posts / comments on this blog?  This is an amazing reflection on Beilein and Michigan and why bring me down by bringing Izzo into it?

Since the second game of the tourney the only time MSU has enterred my basketball thought life is when visiting this damn blog and when stupid TBS announcers call Michigan, Michigan State.  Please stop, I don't want MSU in my thought life.  Ever, well except when we are playing them.  I especially don't want to think about MSU when celebrating Michigan fighting it's way to the final four and beyond.

Man, some of the picks this year were brutal. MSU getting to final four on talent alone. Arizona may win the national championship because they'll use the FBI as motivation? That one was a doozy.

I don’t care what anyone says, I am reveling in Michigan having surpassed the Spartans in basketball. Why would we think that feat is not worth crowing about?

Maybe some of you are very young and do not recall The Dark Times when UM hoops being better than MSU seemed like an impossible fantasy. If rivalries are part of what makes college sports fun, then this is worth noticing, enjoying, and celebrating. We have surpassed our rival and it GALLS them! HAIL!!!

Why the infatuation with Izzo and Staee? Our team is in the final four. Can’t we just be happy and stay classy? Is this what sports fandom has become? Rubbing it in the faces of our opponents?
