One of the greatest voices in the history of the game has passed. Rest In Peace Keith Jackson.

Loved the game, appreciated the skill, especially the Big Hosses in the trenches, and made you feel the excitement without ever thinking he was being fake about it. As good as it got.

They don’t make ‘em like they used to. I think it’s because folks like Keith Jackson started on radio. Without picture to fall back on, the good ones had to tell a story in a meaningful way, or fall by the wayside. I’ve missed his broadcasts ever since he retired.

I may have not heard a lot of games he called but he's definitely one of the best sportscaster in my book.

Man, this is right up there for me with Bo's passing.  I can't think of my childhood watching Michigan games without Keith's voice in my head.  I always held out hope he might come back and call just one...more...game

Jackson was BY FAR the greatest announcer for Michigan games and possibly ever in all of CFB. He always had the funniest similes and metaphors during the game.

I really miss guys like Jackson on the air, who talked about the game in front of him, and did it with genuine appreciation and wonder, instead of artificial yelling and conducting a football talk show that happened to take place in the press box of some random game.

Obviously correct me if I'm wrong.  31 of them in Ann Arbor.  12 games vs Ohio State (CBS had the rights to this game for awhile, so obviously Jackson didn't call it).  7 games vs Notre Dame.  6 Rose Bowls.

Jackson's call of The Punt Return is as iconic as the play itself, and yet, other than the "Hello Heisman" tag at the end, he said almost nothing as the play unfolded, as if knowing the moment was too special to step on.  With all his wonderful 'Jacksonisms', maybe his greatest gift (and his gift to us) was just letting the play on the field do the talking.

Football at its most sublime involves Michigan, Ohio State, and Keith Jackson.

Hearing Keith Jackson’s voice meant there was a real GAME on TV. Didn’t matter who was playing. I would stop cbanging channels. He was my introduction to college football. Couldn’t imagine anything sweeter. (And then I discovered this Ufer fella!)

College football was never the same after Mr. Jackson stepped aside. A very iconic voice for sure. Lost a great one today!!!!

 GOD Speed Keith Jackson!
