Bad news: Moore and Johnson returning for Purdue
E'Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson have both withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return to Purdue next season. Both averaged over 15 points a game a year ago, Moore was first team All Big Ten last season and Johnson has made the all-defense team the last two years.
Sorry to see them stay.

for the Big 10 tough break for a young Michigan team though.
I feel like we are going to have enough things to worry about from within next year, that this doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things. In the end, it's good for the conference.
I am glad to see them comeback. While I am not really much of a Purdue fan, I like to see student athletes make the right decision. These two can only help their chances by playing one more year.
I like it when kids see the big picture and make the best long-term choice. I just wish some of the guys who play for Michigan would do it more often.
Because it knocks the "Rich Rod VS. Morgan Trent" thread down another notch and closer to off the main board.
...that RichRod was talking to all of the NBA teams about Moore and Johnson being bad teammates, which is why they had to return to school?
(Too soon?)
It' s not like it really chages our chances of winning the Big Ten. Now al least somebody will be able to challenge MSU.
They are definitely a Final Four team assuming that there aren't any injuries. I said that last year, but yeah they will be very good again.
Michigan will win their next Championship in basketball before Purdue wins their first.
Probably not.
Nobody is definitely a Final Four team. Barring injuries the Boilermakers are in the discussion, but the NCAA tournament is a crapshoot.
As much as it pains me to say it, I've sort of accepted the fact that next season is going to be a struggle for us. I was pretty happy to hear these two were coming back, as well as McCamey and Mike Davis of Illinois. The reason being, anything that prevents another Big Ten Title for Sparty is fine with me at this point.
If their team could ever stay healthy for a change the have legit Final Four hopes. The big Ten looks like it is going to be really good next year. Not good for our young team.
For some reason my B10 comraderie is much stronger in basketball. Plus there's not much to dislike about the Boilermakers. And anyone who says Chris Kramer as a reason has forgotten about this:
I don't really like Purdue, but I have to agree with your sentiments pertaining to conference camaraderie. When the conference looks strong as a whole, the teams in it have a better SOS, RPI, Quality Wins, etc.
Or maybe you forgot about this:
Clearly Manny elbowing him the face is a good reason.
because I think your video is irrelevant?
I felt bad how the team struggled with Hummel out late last year, and it will be nice for the Boilermakers to (hopefully) have the pieces in place for a NC run.
have the talent to win the national championship. The fact that they made it to Sweet 16 without Hummel spoke volume about the team. They are an elite team with Hummel healthy, but are merely average without him.
Ehh, sweet sixteen isn't elite but it certainly seems aboverage to me.
is all about the draw. Purdue got a favorable draw which is why they made it to the Sweet 16. Did you watch them in Big Ten play when they lost Hummel toward the end of the year? They were not above average.
This is purely subjective, but the one bad game they played was against Minnesota. They were still getting used to the transition IMO, and Minnesota was the ultimate up-or-down team. The way they played in the NCAA's against a popular upset pick, Siena, a 5-seed, and the national champions, I'd say they were aboverage.
...it's not too late.
It is too late. He signed with an agent about two weeks ago.
Manny's feeling pretty good about moving up two spots in the draft.
