Bad news: Moore and Johnson returning for Purdue

Submitted by PurpleStuff on

E'Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson have both withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return to Purdue next season.  Both averaged over 15 points a game a year ago, Moore was first team All Big Ten last season and Johnson has made the all-defense team the last two years.

Sorry to see them stay.

I feel like we are going to have enough things to worry about from within next year, that this doesn't really matter in the whole scheme of things.   In the end, it's good for the conference.

I am glad to see them comeback.  While I am not really much of a Purdue fan, I like to see student athletes make the right decision.  These two can only help their chances by playing one more year.

As much as it pains me to say it, I've sort of accepted the fact that next season is going to be a struggle for us.  I was pretty happy to hear these two were coming back, as well as McCamey and Mike Davis of Illinois. The reason being, anything that prevents another Big Ten Title for Sparty is fine with me at this point.

If their team could ever stay healthy for a change the have legit Final Four hopes. The big Ten looks like it is going to be really good next year. Not good for our young team.

I don't really like Purdue, but I have to agree with your sentiments pertaining to conference camaraderie. When the conference looks strong as a whole, the teams in it have a better SOS, RPI, Quality Wins, etc.

I felt bad how the team struggled with Hummel out late last year, and it will be nice for the Boilermakers to (hopefully) have the pieces in place for a NC run.

This is purely subjective, but the one bad game they played was against Minnesota. They were still getting used to the transition IMO, and Minnesota was the ultimate up-or-down team. The way they played in the NCAA's against a popular upset pick, Siena, a 5-seed, and the national champions, I'd say they were aboverage.
