Harbaugh-Manning Family Cage Match

Submitted by rschreiber91 on
I was just listening to the Boomer Esiason radio show in the NY area, and they talked about who would win a family cage match between the Harbaughs and the Mannings. Boomer said that Bart Scott told him Jack would bite off Archie’s nose. All agreed that the Harbaughs would win hands down. Just thought the whole conversation was funny and wanted to share for those that didn’t/couldn’t hear it.

Archie Manning: 68, 6' 3", 213 lbs, former NFL quarterback

Peyton Manning: 41, 6' 5", 230 lbs, former NFL quarterback

Eli Manning: 36: 6' 4", 218 lbs, current NFL quarterback

vs.

Jack Harbaugh: 78, roughly 6', 200 lbs, 1 yr pro football (RB)

John Harbaugh: 55, roughly 6'2, 210lbs

Jim Harbaugh: 54, 6'3, 215lbs, former NFL quarterback

Since this would be a cagematch, I'd liken these measurables to the Mannings = The Undertaker and the Harbaughs = Mick Foley/Mankind.

I don't have any doubt that the experience and will to win would favor the Harbaughs, but don’t let this comparison distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

I'm starting to feel the effects of age at a few years older than Peyton and younger than Jim.  Age hurts.   This says that  John Harbuagh is is 6' tall, but during the superbowl between the brothers I saw an article saying he's 5'10".

I'd give it to the harbaughs in their prime, but the Mannings get it in real time as 78 year olds aren't know for their fighting.

Yes, the Mannings do have one receiver to offset the overabundane of adroitness and quick mental thinking possessed by a qb heavy clan. Now the Harbaughs have just one qb and therein lies the secret. Young Jay, picked on for everything, and by so doing, has learned a little about a lot. He would be the deciding factor and when push came to shove, all the CEOs that the Mannings are made of(QBs) would prove the old adage, too many chiefs and not enuf Injuns to be correct. The Harbaughs and their warriors in a close one. But a lot of hand shaking afterwards and people saying nice things they really don't mean.

I will say for the Mannings that they all have a pretty good sense of humor, even Cooper now has a little gig on one of those college pre-game shows. Plus I think it's hilarious that even though Peyton and Eli are both HOF caliber players, they still defer to older brother Cooper in the family dynamic.
