To have no choice but announce that Peters is the starting QB from now on... The offense has some consistency it seems like they have confidence now.. Yes it’s Rutgers but Speight had his chance against Cincinnati and AF and looked bad.. O’Korn is just a deer in headlights

Didn’t you and 500 other people say the same exact thing about the offense and O’Korn after the Purdue game? Let’s see how this develops. It’s not like he made too many incredible throws and he made several poor ones. I’m not close to sold on Peters just yet. Obviously he’s the hot hand and we go forward with him for as long as he can keep it going in the right direction but I’m not sure he’s where you would want a guy with his hype.

O'Korn is a 23 year old man who simply doesnt improve.  He really is a deer in the headlights.  Quite clear O'Korn doesnt have the ability to look downfield, go through his progressions and find the most open receiver.  O'Korn makes up his mind who he is going to throw the ball to before the ball is even snapped.  O'Korn = high school QB in a 23 year old body.

The first half of today's game may have been O'Korn's last meaninful playing time of his career.  I wonder if he realized that when Harbaugh replaced him with Peters?  Probably not.  If you cant see down the field, on the field of play, you very likely struggle with seeing down the field, on the field of life.

People realize we're still playing Rutgers right? I'm stoked that we appear to have a running offense again but does everyone remember the Purdue game?

Lets see what happens in the next two games. I'm a fan of the Peters and Walker punch though.

I don’t think anyone can say that yet. Waiting to play Peters may have been as much about setting him up for success as it was about winning now. If Peters is the one getting demolished behind the poor pass protection and a young offense that was struggling to grasp the new scheme, he may have gotten the blame for any losses. He may have lost his confidence. This was the perfect time for him to look good. Run blocking was great. Rutgers don’t have a pass rush. Next couple opponents aren’t real good. There’s a real chance that the reason Harbaugh didn’t want to play Peters is because he didn’t want to ruin him.

Watched the sideline interview with Peters.  Wow, he is young.  Just a damn kid out there.  Keep your expectations low.  He needs some serious life-seasoning.  The potential is there though.

Would be great if the week of the Wisconsin game there is a serious QB battle between Speight and Peters to start the game in Madison.

Peters is clearly the future.  Still prefer Speight for Wisconsin and Ohio State games.  Need a QB with big game experience versus Wisc and OSU.

You want to take my entire comment out of context by using just one sentence of my post?

I want Speight because Speight has more experience and we need someone with big-game experience at Wisconsin and at home versus Ohio State.

Next time, read the whole post before you foolishly smear someone.

Don’t feel foolish at all. You started off by saying Peters came off as inexperienced in his interview and went on to say you’d feel better with Speight starting big games given his experience. Not sure what you saw this season that the rest of us have not but the entirety of the comment was dumb, not just the interview comment. I decided not to analyze all the dumb parts since it was overwhelming. Deal with it.

It sure was nice to see him get in there and have a solid debut. Part of me wanted to see McCaffery get a few snaps at the end just in case Peters gets hurt and OK is just a head case from here on out. A new era has begun and it's exciting. It was awesome to see the team play that much harder after Peters came in the game.
