Emil Ekiyor on the verge of decommitting

Submitted by Maizen on

Per the recruiting roundup from Sam this morning as well as an update on his board. Essentially confirms what guys like Wiltfong and Lorenz have been saying for weeks. He'll be at Bama next fall. Another big loss for OL recruiting.

I have not watched any film on Ekiyor but I'm assuming he is good based on the feedback that I've read. However, five-star talent doesn't always live up to the hype. It sucks if he chooses Bama but Michigan will move on. #Knivestothefuture

I listened to the podcast after reading this.  At least on the podcast Sam didn't say that Emil Ekiyor was on the verge of decommitting.   He did say that he was a soft commit and that Alabama was an imminent threat, but Ekiyor is visiting Michigan for Rutgers and as recently as 10/20 said he is 100% commited.   Boo you for spreading panic.

That said it does seem like Ekiyor is entertaining the idea of Alabama, but be cool man.  Posts like this just stir up people saying dumb things about the recruit no matter how talented they are.

Until we don’t choke away a season and actually step up to the plate we will have to deal with this. Any OL recruit should be looking at this coaching staff right now and wondering if they’re right for their future. I don’t blame him. It’s a big decision and I can’t imagine being recruited by programs like UM and Bama.
