John O'Korn will remain Michigan's starting QB vs. Rutgers, Jim Harbaugh says. Brandon Peters still backup.

Why wouldn't he be? He didn't play bad. The defensive gameplan was terrible, we were outmatched talent/experience wise, and the o-line was atrocious. JOK deserves to start right now.

Omg. JOK “deserves” something? Please. JH has recruited well, although the jury is out on whether he can “develop” players as advertised. Did he “develop” Andrew Luck or did Luck make a lady (oops, a coach) tonight? Right now JH appears more arrogant vis a vis the hard working media than justified by his record in games that actually matter. In any event, in this “totally-lost” season it matters little what a washed up QB (JOK) — who will be selling real estate or life insurance, assuming his overall confusion will not keep him from “passing” either licensing test — “deserves.” The current Michigan football team (youngest in all the FBS) and the organization paying $9 mil “deserves” a coach willing to develop players. Since JH will not give Peters any kind of playing time, I assume there is a GIGANTIC issue that the arrogant JH refuses to disclose about The Future. Let’s hope Peters has not been suffering from clinical depression, substance abuse or some other debilitating condition. Perhaps BP (“The Future”) is a fantasy. Which means we have to wait until DM gains 40 pounds to play real football in The FBS. Regardless, JH has to own his mistakes as he expects his players to own theirs, so why not give The Future a chance?

You,i and this entire board watched, just two short seasons ago, a coach that brought along a talented qb week to week, teaching him one aspect of the play book at a time until season's end when he was one of the best qbs in the country. Remenber, too, if not for JH that qb would not be a millionaire today, not worrying about the tuition he'll someday spend for medical school. He would pretty much be living the life you seem Okorn is destined to, but as far off as you are on whether or not he can develop talent,I don't know if you're close there either.

Remember when the MIchigan QB depth chart read like this?

Nick Sheridan - 8 Junior

Steven Threet - 10 - Sophomore

Justin Feagin - 3 - Freshman

David Cone - 12 - Junior

Michigan's QB situation today is better. So let's be grateful.

This is the right move. It's a fair move to O'Korn who hasn't really done anything to have the job taken away from him. He's played no worse than Speight. I will say this, though, if Michigan doesn't blow Rutgers out of the water, we won't see Peters again all season, as every game will be close (or not close, ala the last game.)

How many QBs have been broken over the past ~9 years due to our horrific offensive line? I'd be skeptical of putting Peters behind this line and having him promptly turned into Skittles.
