OT: Notre Dame Stadium Renovations
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
As I think most are aware, the design of Notre Dame Stadium was based off the Big House, only on a smaller scale and with an end zone tunnel. It took them 3 years to copy Michigan's architecure back in 1930, and now in 2017, 7 years after our own renovations, Notre Dame has again followed suit:
The result of this $400M project looks awfully familiar: press box suites, video boards, LED lighting, etc.
Can't wait to renew our rivalry with them in South Bend next year.
That said, is it Gameday yet?

I'll say it: It was a pretty cool place to see a game. Glad I went, glad I saw a win, don't feel the need to do it again.

I got locked in the Notre Dame this summer during that terrorist scare.
To hell with Notre Dame.

Nice planning and design.
Michigan stadium looks a bit (wait for it . . .spartan) in comparison.

Except now the stadium has a cold, monolithic look and feel about it when viewed from the outside. The old brick, covered by the neo-gothic tombstone buildings, used to communicate a warmer feel. I give them credit.
Michigan Stadium could be warmed up a bit and given a more traditional look and feel if we strung some of its outside structure with ivy plants and perhaps installed grass on some of the roofing. Ivy plants could be run on the reverse of the scoreboards and their supports for example. Feel free to disagree but that's my contention.
