(Ya. so a few years ago, New Mexico decided to build a spaceport out in the middle of the desert, thinking all sorts of private space contractors would be launching from there. Well, years later, I don't think a single spaceflight has ever left from there? SpaceX eschews it. I think Virgin Galactic maybe was supposed to be using it, but, they are still developing. Whatever. They launch OUR rockets!!!)
And yes, OSU had a team there, and no, weep weep, they didn't take top honors.
MSU, I think, had, like 3-9 rocket designs. They were all good at burning couches.
"The Michigan competitors were chosen as the team that most impressed judges overall after also winning first prize in a category that...."
Stay frosty my friends. The State of Michigan used to have its own space launch complex. The "marc" in the Bomarc defensive missile accrued from the Michigan aspect back in the day. Let's bring that back home, let's do it to them before they do it to us. Be careful up there.
Best ad campaign the University has ever done. Will never get old.
woot
used couches and axe body spray for their rocket fuel.
While both are combustible, neither is an appropriate choice for breaking Earth's atmosphere.
Hail yeah! Go Blue. Good to see the kids doing better and better every year.
btw, Ohio State University took the top prize in the 30,000 ft Apogee solid rocket category.
