Spring Game
So I'm thinking of taking my GF's boys to the spring game this year. It will be a first for all of us. Anyone able to give any input on some fun or interesting things to do before and or after the game that are under 18 friendly? I just want it to be a fun trip without anything jumping up and creating havoc, brownie points are always a good thing to accumulate.

We've run out of things to talk about...

I'm a fan of the museums around campus, but those aren't exactly football-y.

Doesn't have to be football-y so much as just to give the 11 to 15 crowd something to be interested in. Museums can be pretty cool. Suggestions on a place to eat etc things they should see? I'm a long time M fan but I can't say I'm a graduate or familiar with A2 for all that it matters. I love the team and I feel sparty creeping in to the oldest one, time to nip that awful pestilence in the bud!

Go to the liquor store near the Brown Jug
Buy a Hustler
Drop Hustler on ground
Go to Brown Jug
Consume Booze
The boys will be right where you left them

Blimpyburgers will nip the sparty thing in the bud. Cottage Inn Pizza and Pizza House are good for kids, too. We always bring a football and throw it around in the DIAG. On State Street you'll find more Michigan gear than you'll know what to do with.

I saw the thread on here about blimpyburger about a month ago and i was dying to try it. I live in Colorado but i spent my spring break last week in michigan and finally got to have it. It did not disappoint at all. I've had the original cottage inn too and you cant go wrong with either of those two places.
I know that Blimpy gets a lot of praise around here, but what about Mr. Spot's? That was my favorite place to eat when I was a UM student. A dozen wings or a Spot's burger with blue cheese and hot sauce both make epic meals.
was my favorite for the hot wings, but they were reserved for NFL Sundays when watching the lions. It was like torturing ourselves two fold.
Mr. Spot's is good, but the prices are semi-outrageous now.

is for drinking.
Children under 21 will need to age overnight.
Or you can take them on a campus tour and help them fall in love with U of M. But then YOU miss out on the drinking.

I'm sure they will figure out the drinking in due time but the tour of the campus could be cool for them, certainly want them to see the victors walk. No sparty can be nearly as cool as seeing the wolverines march into the stadium

There's an alumni game that starts around 11am or so. Last year Larry Foote and Anthony Thomas, among others played in the game.
LaMarr Woodley was introduced at the game as well.

Take 'em to Pinball Petes on South U before the game. While you're in the area, grab lunch at The Brown Jug, which is practically next door and is full of awesome M memorabilia.
Take the awesome walk down South U towards the Union on your way to the game and peek in the Law Quad. Head down State and then right on Hoover. The perfect walk to the game.

I may do that with my kid, too. Great idea.

The exact type of info I was looking for! Thank you man.
but didn't Pinball Pete's go out of business. Then the vacated building burned down? I found the following story below.

Nope, Pinball Pete's didn't go out of business, it moved across the street (then the vacated building burned down).
The arcade moved across the street a couple doors down from the Jug. The one that burned down was the old Pinball Pete's in the original location.

Call me when you're close and I'll get you in to see the cadavers in Observatory Lodge. What young kids wouldn't want to see whole and dismembered bodies???

Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum:

Unfortunately it looks like it doesn't open till 10 on Saturdays, so that might too time restrictive.
Blimpy, Natural Science Museum and the hands on museum.
the cube. That will keep them busy for at least 15 minutes.
Also, tell them about Pinball Pete's and how there was a time when people put quarters in Machines to play high tech video games.
the arb or gallup park are ok, you can rent a canoe...
Last year there was a baseball game and a softball game right after. Blimpyburger is a great place to eat or Zingermans.
Resize that user picture and you'll be my favorite new MGoPoster of the week.
You could stop by Coach and Four for a hair cut and skate sharpening. Anyone know if they still have the porn mags?

They still are young enough for the Hands On Museum.
Let them run around the Arb for a while.
