Where was Karan Higdon?

Submitted by MainStreetMagic on

Watching the game yesterday I couldn't help but notice that Karan Higdon didn't get any carries,  and I never found him on the sidelines. Did I miss an injury report on him or something?  I was surprised to not see him after last week's breakout game, and I looked through the board and didn't see any information about it.

way way way too early(neg away if you choose)...If Higdon can stay healthy, he would probably be in the front of the line as far as RB depth chart goes(next year). And I'm definitely ok with that. I'm just anxious for this kid to finally be on that path of healthiness which will lead to his success for us down our championship road.

I think Harbaugh's willingness to play a true freshman in Evans, coupled with his "More is More" philosophy bodes very well for RB recruiting going forward -- if you got chops, you WILL get your carries. Also, the staff isn't going run you into the ground with 30 carries a game. I get that some backs need to "get a rhythm" going and get stronger as the game goes on, but I think we've seen this year that that is a bit of a cliche and having a stable of quality RB's and spreading the carries around is a better ideal.

RB is the one position where a guy can be physically spent by the end of his college career. An 18 year old kid might want that many carries, but regret getting so many when he's 23. This staff knows how to manage players. Maybe, as the other poster said, it's because we've a lot of relatively equal RB's, but I think there's more to it than that. Keep them fresh, keep them hungry, and plug each one in based on skill set.

"Also, the staff isn't going run you into the ground with 30 carries a game." I'd say it has more to do with the health of Smith and having a lot of running backs (aside from Smith) that are all about the same level. Harbaugh seemed to lean on a primary running back when he was there. "get stronger as the game goes on" Hyperbole at its finest...

Met Karan's mom before the game.. She was wearing his Jersey... Told her how much we enjoy watching her son play... Appeared his significant other was also there carrying a young child but we didn't pry. Nice folks and enjoyed talking with them for a minute but they didn't give us an injury report..

I saw Kareem walker riding a golf cart outside the stadium right after it was over. Not sure why, he seemed to be in a good mood.

I saw a comment from Ty Wheatley Sr. where he called Higgy "a sledgehammer" in terms of his running style.
