GT-BC open thread (7:30AM EST Kickoff!)

Submitted by crg on
Yes - I woke up at 5:30am this morning to make sure to catch a 7:30am kickoff of two mediocre power conference teams playing in Ireland. I am not ashamed. Or tired. Today is GAME DAY and fully intend to enjoy every moment of it. Happy Labor day weekend everyone. Let's watch some football.

This trend toward distant neutral-site games is terrible for college football. It deprives both schools of a on-campus game and ultimately distances students/fans from their school's team.

I'm in Richmond, VA, this weekend looking for a house, as I'm moving here from Seattle in October. But having to wait until noon for the M game to start has me reconsidering.

Richmond is basically a southern city; although the capital of the state, it has a small-city, rural feel to it. But it does have a few nice areas and good bbq. The other thing is, its nicely between DC/NoVa (90 min up I-95) and Va Beach (2 hrs down I-64). If you dont mind a bit of a commute, Williamsburg is an hr away and a grest little city (pricy tho).

Backs against the wall against what's still a top defense, even without Don Brown.  Go 58 yards in 3.5 minutes throwing from the Triple Option offense.  Says a lot about team morale and chemistry when you win while nowhere near your best.  Huge for Mills to get the TD after fumbling earlier...massive for a freshman's confidence.  Great start to the day!

Now I get to settle in and watch the Block M make it even sweeter!
