Peppers giving Butt problems in practice

I'm sure we'll get transcripts on the front page at some point, but I thought this was a cool quote to hear during game week. “I want to win on every single route and that’s my goal unless it’s my job to take some (defenders) with me,” Butt said. “I want to win, and I think I’ve been doing a good job. It helps when you have Delano Hill and Jabrill Peppers manned up with you right on the line every single play this whole entire camp. “I don’t really see it getting any harder than that this season.”

Butt, fart and dick jokes have always been popular - at least since the time of the Romans as demonstrated by excavations that yield this humor literally written on the walls by the ancients. Basic functionality and attributes never tire.

Nobody is covering Butt this year. So Peppers being the toughest opponent doesn't translate to 'Peppers giving Butt problems". Especially since he mentions Peppers AND Hill.

Now if you didn't capitalize Butt, you may have been correct. I'm sure Peppers has been whipping some ass in practice!

Last year, I told anyone who would listen that our defense was at it's best early in the season when Peppers was playing as a hybrid LB. He was making lots of great plays near the line of scrimmage or in the opponent's backfield. That's when our defense was rolling. Some of our true linebackers weren't even playing that much around that time. For some reason, we moved Peppers to more of a traditional cover safety later in the season. Though that meant we had to bring one of our slow and not very athletic linebackers back onto the field. Those guys couldn't make the same plays near the line of scrimmage and our defense was never same.
