Dhani Jones - Adventure Capitalists
The multi-talented former "Spartan Competition" host has another show. He will be co hosting "Adventure Capitalists" on CNBC w/ Jeremy Bloom. He and Bloom were interviewed earlier this morning on CNBC Squawk Box by Andrew Ross Sorkin while down in Rio. Dhani is also doing some reporting on the Olympics for NBC.
Adventure Capitalists debuts Monday, August 22 at 10 pm. The 4 episode series gives entrepreneurs the chance to showcase their product in the environment it's designed for, the great outdoors.
I waited to see if CNBC would post the interview but they haven't yet. Here is the link to the promo (haven't figured out how to embed):

Edit: Included products are an acoustic shark repellent, battery operated all-terrain mountain trike, electric propeller for paddleboards and an underwater jetpack among others.

I was fortunate enough to meet with Dhani and pitch our company last year... I was so giddy during the whole thing. Ended up talking Michigan football the second half of our meeting. He is awesome.

Dhani seems like a great guy and he's a natural in front of a camera. I'll have to check this show out.
The propeller for the paddleboard sounds cool but those things aren't that light to begin with, so add a motor and enough battery to be useful and you have a load.

My wife and I met Dhani at a bar in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl at the end of Hoke's first season. He flirted a lot with my wife. It was awesome.

Underwater Jetpack sounds like a blast.

The products sound fantastical and far fetched, but I assume that is what is needed to make "good" TV. I do enjoy "Shark Tank" on CNBC, though they seem to gloss over the numbers aspect of their decision making. Such is life when the average consumer has an attention span of a gnat.

technology deemed so? I for one couldn't imagine cell phones, iphones with mini computers inside and most of what we have today when I was in grade school. The technology we have developed since the mid 80's would also seem fantastical and far fetched if looked upon from that pov.

I loved that series. But they kept moving it around so you could never know when it was on.
