Game on regardless of weather. Unless of course something pulls a last year and knocks down half of Yost. Which would be tragic, because I really like Yost and they just finished fixing it :'-(

They just played a outside game in freezing Wisconsin, a little bit of snow won't postpone this one. We need this one bad. Go Blue!

Its time to see what this team is made of.
The opportunity is there to go on a nice run against inferior opponents to close out the season and squeeze into the NCAA tourney.
Once there, anything can happen as we have seen in the last couple years.
One thing I have noticed as a trend over the past 4 or 5 seasons is that the CCHA team that makes it the furthest in the NCAAs is usually not the one who had the best regular season. When ND went to the finals 2 years ago they were a 3 or 4 seed and same with Miami last year. I even think MSU may have been lower than a 1 seed when they won it all.
I'm not saying it'll happen, but if Michigan can just find a way to make it into the field, they might be able to make some noise.

MSU got in by the skin of their teeth. IIRC they may have been the lowest or second lowest seed in the tournament

3 CCHA teams have made the NCAA Championship Game in the past three years.
2007 - Michigan State, 3 seed, 3rd CCHA team in the tournament (Miami was a 4 seed), won the National Championship
2008 - Notre Dame, 4 seed, 4th and last CCHA team in the tournament, Lost in the Championship Game to Boston College
2009 - Miami, 4 seed, 3rd CCHA team in the tournament (OSU was the last), Choked away the Championship to Boston University (lol)
Totally agree with you, just get in and get hot at the right time and anything is possible. The top CCHA teams have not had success in the Tournament. 2007, ND was a 1 seed and U-M was a 2 seed and neither made the Frozen Four. 2008, Miami was a 1 seed and didn't make the frozen four, U-M was a 1 and was beaten by ND (still have nightmares over that game) in the frozen four. Last year, U-M and ND were both 1 seeds that were one and done.
Michigan needs to take care of business today which will put them into 4th in the conference, sweep UNO and NMU the next two weekends and split with ND (preferably sweep though, but can afford to lose one more game this year besides tonight) and get to the Joe in the CCHA tournament. Granted, this team has shown that it will not be easy and probably will not happen, but playing to their potential will get them a Tournament birth and allow them a chance to get hot and get to Ford Field.
In a game like hockey, in a single elimination tournament, anything is possible...all it takes is one bounce of the puck, an opposing goalie going all billy sauer in denver, or simply getting hot to bring home a championship, even with a team as frustrating as Michigan.

We had turco, Mucult and a bunch of freshman. i think that we were either a 3 or 4 seed that year. Googlers can look it up.
Our CCHA semi final was one not pretty -- we lost to that school down south on two 'assists'/misplays by Turco; it wasn't one of his better games. He came back and played four of his best games in net in the NCAA tournament.
Update: We were a 3 seed in 98.

I imagine the snow may thin the crowd down a bit, but they'll play the game.

I'm excited. I made the trek out to Wisconsin over the weekend and it left me in a foul mood.

Lets make the "I hate comcast" cheer nice and loud. Red doesn't like tv timeouts, either.

The game will be on, except in the rare case that there is another structural problem like Miami last year. I'm sure that the UM maintenance crews will be out clearing the area around Yost, and the entrances will probably will be shoveled and salted. It's weird having a Tuesday night game. The only midweek games are typically the Niagara home opener on a thursday.

This game is going to be the hockey equivalent of Delaware State. It's midterm time, people are busy, and it's snowing. I doubt the student section will have more than a few hundred people.
