Hello: 2015 Preferred Walk-On Brent Hibbitts
Good day to be a Michigan Basketball fan.
Hibbitts, a 6-foot-8 shooter, averaged 17.3 points, 11 rebounds and 2.5 blocks and shot 48% from the floor as a senior. Hibbitts took recruiting visits to Vermont and American and chose the Wolverines over several mid-major offers from other schools.
I have officially committed to The University of Michigan!!! pic.twitter.com/FkaqOJZlan

Congrats and Welcome.
He will be trained by one of the best in the business, Andrew Dakich.
is Andrew Dakich in a 6 foot 8 inch body, the Big Ten better beware. Go Blue.
welcome!
Anything is possible I suppose, but right now he is a preferred walk-on that does not take up a scholarship next season.
But I imagine one of the older walkons would get first crack.
happens all the time in football.
i do not believe belien has done it. would be a great benefit for the parents.
he gave Eso Akunne a scholarship.
I've had a great day!
GO FUCKING BLUE!!!!!

You have to like adding a guy who had D1 scholarship offers. This is indeed an excellent day for Michigan basketball.
Despite some iffy Monday weather in and around Ann Arbor, this has been a good news day in general for Michigan athletics, but in particular for basketball, I would say. Two great adds to the program in one day - I don't think anyone would scoff at that.
Welcome to Michigan, Brent Hibbitts.
Always have respect for these guys who turn down mid major offers in order to pay their own way at Michigan. That takes commitment. And these are the guys who often times play scout teams in practice to push the starters. Never underestimate what skilled walk ons can do for a basketball team.
Potentially 4 years of a MAC-level stretch 4 without using a scholly? Yes please! Our walkon quality is excellent. Dakich and Lonnegran both very good walkons as well. love it.
I love to see a local boy on the team! Congrats to Brent.
As was rumored, Hibbitts would only go to an Adidas school.
Give him a couple years with Beilein, Bacari and Sanderson and he will be contributing on the floor.
Really nice pick-up as a walk-on.
He's a skilled player but his athleticism looks to be why he's a walk-on and not on scholarship. He plays well below the rim for a guy who's 6'8 and does not look strong, quick, fast or explosive.
Camp Sanderson has been able to add explosiveness to some guys - and a kid like this could develop that explosiveness and go from walk-on to major contributor.
All upside pickup. Love it.
You already have made this community proud. Keep up the good work.
From a fellow Hudsonville Eagle parent ! Go Blue !!!

graduate as well; great to see local kids wear the Maize and Blue.
He looks like he'll fit in with the bench mob
Welcome to the Bench Mob.
Also, a shameless plug for Hudsonville Winery / Pike 51 Brewery in Hudsonville. Great product, nice people. No connection to me, just a favorite stop if I'm in the area.
