after 2 were out...and left 'em loaded.
Still down 2-0 after 1
This year's team just looks out of sync in all aspects of the game.
Sierra's got an OPS over 1.560. Those are Nintendo numbers.
And after that bomb, it's a little higher.
Wow. Didn't realize that Ohio State popped Nebraska yesterday.
Winner of this game plays Minnesota for the B1G title.
Hutch seems to be a pretty tough character yet the players maintain an ease on the field, with a lot of smiles, especially the pitchers.
and she hits one out. [Considering her stats, I suppose the law of averages wouldn't make that such a big deal.]
Horseshit call on the 3rd strike that ended the 3rd. I understand they're a bit more liberal with the strike zone, but that was a bit ridiculous.
Bases juiced and we got nothing. Hope that doesn't come back to haunt us.
Sierra Lawrence looked safe.
Top of the 7th, Wisconsin just hit a HR to go up 3-2. Tough one for Betsa.
That was almost a walk-off bomb.
If they pitch to Romero now, they're idiots.
so now we've got runners on 1st and 2nd, none down.
...double steal moves them up to 2nd and 3rd!
Hell of an ending.
Walk off single after we steal 3rd.
4-3 good girls.
Blanchard comes thru with a line single to left, final score Michigan wins, 4-3!
Go Blue, Gals!!!
Yay! We win! Now beat Minny. Of course BTN is blaming the umps.
The good thing is that we won it in 7 innings too. We don't want our ladies tired for the championship. The number one seed should play at 3:30 and get the rest time but oh well.
BTN says that Driesenga will start the final.
We're the top seed. Why aren't we the home team? What am I missing?
Yeah that makes no sense to me either. Especially since we had like 5 minutes between games.
Question for someone who's knowledgeable about softball: why are pitchers more heavyset than some of the other players? Is that intentional or just a random occurrence? I can see why power hitters carry more bulk, but why pitchers?
I would have to think the majority of it lies in the girl's legs, in order to produce the necessary velocity to pitch at this level.
There's pretty wide variety. A lot of the elite ones like a Finch or Osterman are just super tall. Taryn Mowatt was neither tall nor wide (was/is in fact crazy hot) and was elite.
2nd and 3rd, 0 out in the 4th.
Gotta cash one in here.
Much better.
2-0.
This umpire needs to realize that Hutch would quit bitching of he'd quit calling strikes on balls above our neck.
No kidding. The strike zone is the size of a Buick.
Coach Hutch is breathing a bit of fire tonight.
Edited: Oops, I thought it was over. Good luck to the team!
The team has now played 14 innings straight. If this goes to extras, it's good that we have three ace pitchers.
Oh, we're in some trouble here.
Never seen that - two strikes on the batter, and they go for an intentional walk.
That's a bitch of a way to lose it.
