Ladies won the semifinal in walk off fashion 4-3. The team now plays Minnesota for the championship.

Hutch seems to be a pretty tough character yet the players maintain an ease on the field, with a lot of smiles, especially the pitchers.

Horseshit call on the 3rd strike that ended the 3rd. I understand they're a bit more liberal with the strike zone, but that was a bit ridiculous.

Bases juiced and we got nothing. Hope that doesn't come back to haunt us.

but no runs in the 6th. The Wisky runner heading home dogged it and didn't make it home before the other runner was tagged out. Cost them a run. Hopefully Michigan bats come alive this inning.

The good thing is that we won it in 7 innings too. We don't want our ladies tired for the championship. The number one seed should play at 3:30 and get the rest time but oh well.

Question for someone who's knowledgeable about softball: why are pitchers more heavyset than some of the other players? Is that intentional or just a random occurrence? I can see why power hitters carry more bulk, but why pitchers?

everytime I watch softball.....I'm amazed how liberal the strike zone is. seems like the girls have to swing at some bad pitches.
