OT - Should Atlanta Falcons receiver Roddy White pay off Twitter bet with fan?
...And when a fan challenged White by saying Duke would fail to advance beyond the round-of-64 game against No. 14-seed Mercer, White made somewhat of a pledge.
He said he would buy Falcons season tickets on the 50-yard line for the fan if he was correct.
Turns out, the fan was correct: Duke lost. Sometime after the game, White backed off his promise. Instead of season tickets, White said he would buy the fan tickets for a single game when the Falcons played the Chicago Bears..

White should pay up. He could have asked the fan what his side of the offer/bet was and didn't do so at the time. Could have even done so with a follow-up tweet, by then tweeting that the "bet" was conditional on the fan also risking something in case he was wrong. White won't live this down and put himself in a no-win position unless and until paying it off.
It's like online dating profiles. Never believe what you read because it's all a lie!
Besides, he might not have all that much money as you think he has.

A multi-year NFL starter saying 'I'll bet you season tickets' sounds and feels like a normal joe betting $20. White's backpedalling faster than Carmelo after throwing a punch so that's apparently not the case. Now what probably felt like a joke at the time is making White look like a lying sore loser.

A bet on Twitter isn't a bet, it's 140 characters, usually of nonsense, that mean very little. The fan should feel lucky to be getting anything out of it. Kudos to Roddy for honoring the bet in any way at all.

don't make the bet if you can't back it, seems very simple to me. I bet a Sparty that I would wear a Sparty T shirt all week long at work if the Spartans won. Well guess what Desmond was in fact tripped in the end zone. Did I say oh no I am in no way honoring that bet. In the history books it says UM lost that game and I wore that shirt all week long and my wife made me wash it the four times out of five days I had to wear it. I was taught a very valuable lesson not to open my mouth unless I was ready to stand by it. Anyway the UM fans at work said that it was bullshit I had to wear it and really felt bad for me. The Sparties meanwhile said I got what I deserved and I say they were right.
