Rivalry game!
Please don't tell me they're going to try to "Stripe the Birthplace" again.
October 24th, 2022 at 2:08 PM ^
Sounds kind of obscene.
October 24th, 2022 at 4:14 PM ^
“Stripe the birthplace” sounds somewhat similar to a Cleveland Steamer.
October 24th, 2022 at 5:56 PM ^
You’re doing it wrong.
October 24th, 2022 at 11:50 AM ^
Sweet! We're flying to NY Friday and back Monday. I was hoping for a late afternoon or night game.
October 24th, 2022 at 12:04 PM ^
same, except thurs-mon. looking forward to it!
October 24th, 2022 at 12:07 PM ^
PJ's Pizza slices. I used to have those 3 times per week when I lived in New Brunswick.
October 24th, 2022 at 4:17 PM ^
Or a boli (Stromboli) at Stuff Yer Face.
October 24th, 2022 at 11:50 AM ^
I think we’ve played Rutgers at night every single time we’ve played there.
October 24th, 2022 at 11:54 AM ^
2018 was the lone exception.
October 24th, 2022 at 12:14 PM ^
Ahh, must’ve been a 3:30 game that ended in the dark
October 24th, 2022 at 12:24 PM ^
You are correct!
October 24th, 2022 at 11:54 AM ^
We were contractually obligated to have 1 B1G game on BTN. Considering Illinois will probably get Big Noon Kickoff it was always going to be the Rutgers or Nebraska game and they were likely going to put us in their prime time spot.
October 24th, 2022 at 12:15 PM ^
We had already fulfilled that obligation with Hawaii
October 24th, 2022 at 12:25 PM ^
Obligation calls for 2 games on BTN with atleast 1 of the 2 being a conference game.
October 24th, 2022 at 12:30 PM ^
Ahh my mistake
October 24th, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
Also Michigan was due for a road night game. Have to share the burden of being the visitor for road night games across the conference. On average with the current TV contract, it has usually averaged to two home night games and one road night game per season for Michigan.
October 24th, 2022 at 2:10 PM ^
If we have to have a night game on the road . . . Rutgers is the one we want.
October 24th, 2022 at 11:57 AM ^
I’m just glad this isn’t the game before the OSU game, because I could see a sludge fart type of game at night sandwiched between two rivals. Maybe after bringing Paul back home we will take out some aggression for a half against Rutgers and then bring in the backups and keep everyone healthy for this stretch run.
October 24th, 2022 at 12:03 PM ^
Awesome!! I love night games!
October 24th, 2022 at 12:07 PM ^
Night game! Rivalry! RUTGER! BIG TEN! 111!!!11!!
(I don't know how else to denote proper inflection - voice rising, intensity ramping up until it descends into incomprehensible screaming about SCHIANO! FENCE THE GARDEN! 78! RABBLE! RABBLE RABBLE!)
October 24th, 2022 at 12:24 PM ^
Awful.
October 24th, 2022 at 12:39 PM ^
Is there an "early read" on what time the Michigan - Nebraska game will kick off on November 12th?
I know the B1G won't announce until next Monday, but - a 3:30 pm start could be a good thing.
October 24th, 2022 at 12:48 PM ^
(I posted this on the other thread on the Rutgers game, and copied it to here. My apologies for the duplication.)
The other notable games (from my perspective) that Saturday include:
Bama at LSU,
Tennessee at Georgia,
Texas Tech at TCU, and
Clemson at ND (at night).
And, the current forecast for Piscataway on Saturday November 5th is - a high of 59 degrees and an overnight low of 41.

Ugh. On a Delta flight to India at that time.
Has anybody had success streaming a football game (BTN app or otherwise) on Delta's wifi?
October 24th, 2022 at 1:03 PM ^
I haven't had success streaming a goddamn thing on Delta's wifi.
October 24th, 2022 at 1:44 PM ^
I was flying to Doha on Qatar Airways during the Maryland game and was shocked to find out I had little problem streaming from the YouTube TV app. Buffering sucked but I didn't miss much of the game at all.
October 25th, 2022 at 12:16 PM ^
Late reply here, but it generally depends on which Wi-Fi system the airplane you are on has. Delta has four different systems/providers. If you are on an airplane with Viasat connectivity, streaming is usually pretty decent. Viasat-equipped airplanes can be identified by a sticker on the airplane to the right of the boarding door. The other three systems (provided by Gogo) do not in most cases support streaming.

I'm getting old and don't like the night kick times. I'd much prefer 3:30. Never thought I'd say it. Though, I'm sure the players love the night kicks, and it is about them, so whatever.
October 24th, 2022 at 1:35 PM ^
Have we ever gone an entire season without playing a mid-afternoon game?
We're down to Nebraska and Illinois as our last 2 chances for my favorite starting time.
Illinois will probably be a Big Noon game. There are not a ton of good Big Ten/Big 12 games that week, so unless Illinois falls apart it seems likely.
October 24th, 2022 at 1:47 PM ^
I know many are fans of the mid-afternoon game but as the Illinois game is the game immediately prior to the OSU one, I much prefer that we get that game out of the way ASAP (i.e., noon game) and let the coaches and players turn their focus to OSU earlier. If I could, I wish it were played Friday or even earlier for those reasons.
October 24th, 2022 at 11:23 PM ^
There's no guarantee Fox has the first pick that week. As someone who likes the 3:30 games, I'm hoping that ESPN has first pick and saves us from yet another noon game
October 24th, 2022 at 1:43 PM ^
That sucks, was hoping for a rare 3:30 kick.
October 24th, 2022 at 1:45 PM ^
The good news is that the biggest game of the day (Tennessee-Georgia) is on at 3:30 so we won't miss that.
The bad news is that we'll miss both Alabama-LSU and Clemson-ND. (My attention is 100% focused on U-M when they're playing, so I'm not going to try to watch other games on at the same time).

Woof. Beat Staee!
October 24th, 2022 at 2:03 PM ^
My wife and I are taking our two boys to this game. We live about 2 hours away in suburban NY (long island). My older son is a sophomore in HS and is just starting to look at schools, so the night game gives us an opportunity to see the RU campus. Questions for those who have been to a game at Rutgers (or just to the campus):
1. Is the stadium close to the center of campus?
2. How is the food in the stadium?
3. Recommendations for a good lunch place?
4. Anything that we should try to see / experience on campus that a prospective student would like?
October 24th, 2022 at 7:07 PM ^
There was a post about this a few weeks ago here
October 24th, 2022 at 5:31 PM ^
Noooooooo!!!!!
I've already got both a Bat Mitzvah and a 50th birthday party that evening.
Oy vey.

Fucking sucks
