REALLY bad B1G basketball on now

In case you weren't sure of the gap between the top and bottom of the conference, there is an epic battle of incompetence on the BTN now between Northwestern and OSU. OSU just scored their 15th point with 2:08 left.

The game is a series of airballs, balls clanging off the heel and backboard, roller skate defense, poor ball movement and, of course, turnovers. After watching 30 games of our guys, the difference is obvious and stunning. We've really got a great thing going. And I fear that a number of schools will be coming to throw big cash at Yak and Saddi very soon.

Ohio State was just plain awful without Kaleb Wesson, they got handled up front.  Andre Wesson plays hard (when he doesn't have 4 fouls) but isn't a 5 or even a legit 4.  Young is a non-factor.  Plus the guards have been bad and/or injured.

If they end up missing the tournament will that be a reason for a posbang?

The Rutgers-Penn State game started out as an ugly rock fight but turned into a good game in the 2nd half.  Rutgers lost but they played their collective asses off and had a shot to win.  The bottom of the B1G is no joke.

I guess the committee needs to find 68 teams from somewhere.

But I've seen Ohio State about 6 times in B1G play, including last night.  They have never once looked like an NCAA tournament team.

If they get in, it's solely going to be on the backs of the Cincinnati win in early November.

The first NET rankings were released too early, and pretty much everybody knew that except for the NET people.  The only computer rankings that look sensible that early in the season are those like KenPom that incorporate projections for the first couple of months.

That's not to say that OSU wasn't playing better basketball in December than they are today; they absolutely were, and they've dropped in more sensible ranking systems too.  It's just that they were never the best team in the country, no matter what the NET may have produced.

Iowa vs. Wisconsin is also terrible. Why do these two teams always do this to us in every sport?

I can't remember the last time the Iowa vs. Wisconsin football game was even remotely watchable, and now we've got this basketball game that is like watching footage of yourself getting a root canal. They should just televise someone mixing a can of corn into a pot of melted cheese instead.
