Mason Cole - impressive starting streak
Saw this on Twitter - by Steve Lorenz - and without seeing it on the board thought about sharing an impressive stat by Mason Cole who has now started every high school, college and pro game of his career! Great to see him doing well in the NFL.

After his combine "...According to the NFL.com rating system, Cole graded out higher with a score of 5.56. That is classified as a player with a "chance to become an NFL starter."
Looks like Cole aced that chance, and then some.

It’s not always easy to gauge heart and football savvy.

Does Cole play OG, C or OT? I always liked Cole as an interior lineman, but thought that when he was used at OT, it did not play to his strengths. Curious how the NFL weighs in on that.

According to the linked tweet, Cole plays center for the Cardinals.

Thanks. I can barely discern twitter, so I rarely click on links to twitter.

I understand ... I was lucky it was the first thing in the feed. I can't figure out how to follow twitter stuff beyond a few things myself. I'm not a twitter user, and I generally don't go there.

Yes and I remember reading an article around the end of training camp last year that the Cardinal's regular starter went down with an injury, forcing Cole into the starting lineup. Not sure how long the starter was out for but here's hoping Cole keeps his spot in the lineup!

Cole played center. The starting center (AQ Shipley) got injured before the season started and Cole wound up the starter.

His season grade on PFF is around mid 50s, which is technically "below average" but for a rookie starting center, I think that's a heck of a grade.

Wow.... THAT is something. Truly. To start as a HS freshman....then as atrue college frosh...and now an NFL rookie. I would guess it might be a first, ever.

Hats off to him, that's most certainly not something that happens by accident. Quite the hard working Michigan man.

That is impressive! Way to go Mr. Cole.
