Mud Bowl Tomorrow
I hear tell that the Mud Bowl is tomorrow, is this true? If so anyone have any info about it? I think my 8 year old may find it fun. Last time I went to a Mud Bowl, I walked to the game after and watched Drew Henson play, so I can’t remember much about the schedule. Would it still be fun to go watch for an hour or so?

They changed it to this week for whatever reason, maybe because 3:30 kick and it’s Parents Weekend?
Weather is looking perfect for it though considering the moisture

IIRC, the ladies at the Mud Bowl can turn any boy into a man.

I believe the Mud Bowl was held prior to the Maryland game as part of Homecoming.

From Mlive:

So are they just placeholders for SAE during their absence, or what?

From the article it makes it seem they are students that were previous SAE members that wanted to keep the Mud Bowl going. I know SAE had a pretty strong alumni organization at UM while I was there so they probably kept the house and members did a "secret initiation" to keep the house full even if they were officially associated with IFC.
As long as they aren't hurting people and raising money for charity, $30k last year for Mott, I'm all for it. I agree with other people though about the poor outlook of Greek life in 5-10 years. I don't see a culture people associate with Animal House lasting unless there is more news about the philanthropy done.

You seem like you would be fun to hang with at a party. Yes the responses weren’t great but a quick google gave answers pretty easily.

As a current student, I have heard nothing about Mud Bowl tomorrow. I'm not sure what the status of it is at the moment

Yes, MudBowl is a go -- KO is tomorrow morning at 10:30am at the SAE house (corner of South U & Washtenaw). And yes it involves other houses until SAE gets its chapter back. As usual, all proceeds (donations) go to Motts Childrens Hospital. Come one, come all.

Any news on SAE getting reinstated? Hope they do and are not neutered like Beta is/was.

As a former UM Greek, I have to say the horizons for Greek life aren't so good. More of them will get those harsh penalties and disappear, and fewer people will join. Hopefully positives like the Mud Bowl, or Greek week, which raise so much money, find a home somewhere.
