Marcus Ray walks back his Purdue comments

Like a true antagonizer in the vein of Valenti and Cowherd, Ray backtracked on his opinion that Purdue is the best team in the Big Ten this morning on WTKA, although somehow even less adeptly than those two. He basically said, “Oh I didn’t mean they were the best team in the conference, I meant they looked great and with the West up for grabs I was trying to motivate them... I don’t know why everyone made such a big deal out of it.”  Sam called him out and said ok Marcus, so without trying to motivate anyone, who do you think is the best team right now.”  Then he took the easy way out and said Michigan and Ohio State.  This guy is losing it.  He’s already lost all hope of a good media job. He should just go back to being a Michigan guy and maybe he’ll get some local work. Podcast should be up in a bit.

I would not mind if the "Rays of Light" segment returns weekly to Sam's show.  Marcus is at his best when he's talking with Sam.  Jamie Morris is clearly trying to be a good friend (and it's never a bad thing to be a good friend) but Jamie has a whole different approach.   He is super kind and accommodating however he rarely if ever reins in people if they start to go off the deep end. Sam is more about the tough love and manages to bring out the knowledge and humor Marcus has, while at the same time, calling him out on his BS as needed.  I wonder if Sam was a ever a teacher or coach before becoming an on-air personality, because he really does have a good way of working with people.

It was a hilarious part of Sam's show today.  Back that truck up Marcus..beep beep beep

"I said that to push Purdue to make the west interesting"   STFU

Sam called him out on the Devin Bush stuff, comparing that to his time during OSU senior day and he doesnt think its the same.?! Please sucka, sit down in a corner somewhere.

And the part where he says he is definitely pulling for Michigan to make it to Indy so he can collect those appearance checks.  How bout wanting them to make it for being an alum and fan?  Man you suck.
