did you see this tweet from earlier today about odds for potential coach for the browns?

whatever they are smoking they are out of their minds if they think McVay will leave the LA Rams to go to Cleveland after starting 8-0 with a young exciting quarterback in goff, todd gurley, and darnold & suh on defense.

I find it interesting that Drevno was successful at each of his stops prior to UM and now has struggled for his last two stops in a row.  What happened that caused this career trajectory change?  Was he never a great coach and it was hidden by other good offensive coaches?  Does he system only work certain places and/or with certain talent?  I'm just curious how what seemed like a successful coach is now being perceived as not a very good coach now.

I don't think anyone would argue that Warriner isn't one of the best college OL coaches in the country. He's clearly better than the best version of Drevno. The real question is if Drevno is the guy who did well everywhere else, or if he's the guy who sucked while here.

With that said, the OL wasn't awful last year when they dropped all the zone stuff in the latter half of the season. Unfortunately, at that point, the damage was already done to their development due to all the wasted reps.

Another interesting point. Warriner sucked as OC at OSU. So it's not really fair to compare OL/OC Drevno versus "just OC Warriner". Clearly, the OL/OC combo is a hard one to pull off.
