How important is this game for Harbaugh/UM?

I feel this msu game is the most important game on michigans schedule this year, more important than osu actually. I feel it is an absolute must win for harbaugh. he has the more talented team and that needs to come up with a win Saturday. I think for recruiting purposes and state of the program that Michigan has to win this game, if they don't I feel that it will be a huge set back for the program and could create a down fall for the rest of year. I don't care win by 1 or 30, need to win. I think a win, Michigan goes 10-1 to osu, lose and I could see 8-4.

Whats everybody think?

Last week it was "Must win vs. Wisconsin, need to beat a ranked team."  Check.  Now it's "Must win, need to beat our rivals/ranked team on the road."  No win will be enough to quiet the Harbaugh/Michigan critics  unless it's the NC, and then it will be "But can they do it again next year?"  Me, I'm still savoring the Wisconsin victory.

No doubt.  This is the most important game since Harbaugh got here.

if he loses to state saturday he is 1-3 against them and it takes 3 years to get a winning record against dantonio.

harbaugh knows this.

we will win big saturday.

If you do not believe this is the most important game to date (read: to date), then you have blinders on. I appreciate the platitudes and recognition that every game is important. I also appreciate UM could still theoretically win the BIG East if they lost tomorrow (and a number of other things happen to help UM out).

But - while those things are measurable - the most important piece of this game is the immeasurable, psychological impact on the team, coach, and fanbase if UM loses. It effectively validates the entire offseason of pain; it validates that Coach D is simply a better coach than Coach H; it validates UM can't win against a rivals; it validates UM can't win against a ranked team on the road; blah, blah, blah, blah. It's not pretty, especially between the ears (and on the liver).

This is Harbaugh's most important game since his hire, period. Michigan is favored in every category, has the horses, and is making a run. This IS MSU's season. To put a dagger into Harbaugh and UofM's season. This is the pinnacle of what their team can accomplish this year.

MSU is out of the playoffs and has nothing to lose which makes a dangerous animal.

With the public on Harbaugh's back about not winning rivalry and road games, this game wraps up everything in a nice package for him. This game is on the road, against a rival, against a ranked team, and in rotten weather.

Harbaugh can answer everything going against him in one game.

Do you see the pressure of a mountain of criticism coming his way if he doesn't win this game?

ALL the pressure is on Harbaugh. NOBODY wants to win this more than Harbaugh.

This is the game where Harbaugh will put out his best foot, lay his cards on the table, and take his chances of showing too much before OSU. This game is too important.

I don't expect Harbaugh to take his foot off the gas or play 3rd string players if there's garbage time. There is too much at stake and you can't ever put yourself in a position to lose a punt snap again.

Saturday is it. This defines the future of Michigan football under Harbaugh.

Dantonio knows it too.

Here he comes.
