|11/05/2017 - 1:35pm||Of course!||
Winning out means we beat OSU. BEAT THE BUCKEYES.
|11/04/2017 - 7:03pm||JT||
J.T. Barrett for <giggles> Heisman?
|11/04/2017 - 7:01pm||OMG||
That is all.
|10/22/2017 - 10:57pm||Oh yeah.||
I was livid at that. The pass did not cross the line of scrimmage. That should be grounding every time--even if a receiver is in the area (and I didn't see one). Right? Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that rule.
|10/22/2017 - 10:25pm||Maybe read next time||
I never said I was proud of them for losing. I'm proud of them in spite of losing because of their never quit attitude--particularly JOK. And that's something that's be seen as a good thing long before stupid participation trophies were even a thing.
|10/22/2017 - 12:07pm||Yeah?||
How many of his recruits have started at QB?
As someone has said already, at defense we have seen little drop off (although they got exploited last night). At offense we have not been stellar for the last couple years. Even with good Speight last year was just above average. Rudock was apparently an anomaly, and he was a transfer, not a Hoke recruit.
|10/22/2017 - 11:52am||To be clear||
I am not proud of the score or the outcome. Of course not. But this game felt a lot different from the 2007 Oregon drubbing.
And let us not forget that these are college kids. Some of them will be pros in the future, but most of them will not. I love to see them play well and win, and I've no doubt Harbaugh will get them to that point sooner rather than later.
It's the huge uptick in Year 1 that even had us at these expectations. Most people were saying Year 3-4 would be the year before Rudock went all pro on us.
But when we get on Internet boards to roast college athletes, that is a problem with us, not with them.
|10/19/2017 - 9:01pm||Yeah . . .||
I recall seeing in a segment about that hit where the UM defender was talking about how it ended his football career. Really sad. As much as we hate a lot of the targeting nonsense, we should remember it is there to try to protect the players.
|10/17/2017 - 12:54am||Yeah . . .||
I always liked Tate. Was sad to see him leave, even if he left us with Denard. Wish RR had had a Don Brown in command of the D. He would have won some games.
|10/15/2017 - 2:43pm||Harball||
|10/15/2017 - 2:28pm||This||
This is exactly what I said when I saw him high-point that INT. He seems to go up and get it in a way our receivers do not. I mean, not really a totally serious suggestion, but it does kinda make you think.
|10/08/2017 - 1:01pm||The late hit||
The late hit in the play before was even more obvious and egregious. We should have had a free 1st down off of that instead of another desperate INT.
|10/08/2017 - 12:56pm||Maybe||
|10/08/2017 - 12:55pm||Maybe||
We could always move him BACK to QB, a la Devin Gardner. Right? RIGHT??!!!
|10/08/2017 - 12:06pm||I don't think||
I don't think Harbaugh is trying to take our QB's legs away. More likely he's trying to coach them about when to use their legs and when rely on their arm in the pocket, and they just aren't getting it. Harbaugh likes mobile QBs. He WAS one. And he made good use of Kaepernick and Luck too. Speight and O'Korn just don't have it in them to judge when to do one and when to do the other.
|10/08/2017 - 12:02pm||Happy feet||
JOK has always had a tendency to take off when he shouldn't. He even did so last night a couple times when the protection was there, but he flushed himself out and started running around. I am sure the coaches are trying to iron out that tendency from him. And then he swings to the other extreme sometimes, holding on to the ball and not taking off when he should.
My feeling is that JOK just hasn't yet figured out how to judge when to take off and when not to. With as much experience as he's had already, maybe he never will.
|10/08/2017 - 11:30am||Sorry about Speight||
Sorry to hear that, for Speight. Not fun to be injured. From a football perspective though, Speight was not doing us many favors. I think a lot of O'Korn's INT woes yesterday were due to passing it repeatedly in the pouring rain. Not possible to be accurate in that, and difficult to judge the field. Distance, speed, rhythm, all that gets thrown off in a monsoon. So I'm up for giving him another chance.
O'Korn also did some good things out there, a few of which were negated by penalty or WR error. And I think Michigan has the best chance of winning games with him going forward this year.
BTW, I don't fault the coaches for passing it either. We needed to get something going, and the run game wasn't working.
|09/23/2017 - 8:07pm||Also . . .||
That almost sounds like you hope Speight gets/stays injured. Not cool.
|09/23/2017 - 8:03pm||I expect . . .||
I expect Harbaugh to equivocate and be tight lipped for the next two weeks to make Sparty prepare for both . . . and then of course march O'Korn out for the opening drive.
So don't be mad if he sounds indecisive about O'Korn on Monday.
|09/23/2017 - 7:59pm||Yeah||
Kind of reminds me of Tate Forcier.
|09/09/2017 - 11:23pm||Dang||
Mayfield is pumped! Just planted OU flag in the middle of the Horseshoe.
|09/09/2017 - 10:59pm||Yeah.||
Had issues with the Cincy game too. Irritating.
|09/09/2017 - 10:57pm||Hopefully . . .||
UGH. Double post. My bad.
|09/09/2017 - 10:56pm||Hopefully . . .||
Hopefully M is in the position to take advantage by November. OU giving us the "beat Ohio" blueprint tonight.
Also, OU just got robbed on that INT.
|09/09/2017 - 10:51pm||Alright, alright . . .||
Removed the "OT" disclaimer in the title.
Boomer . . .
|09/09/2017 - 10:46pm||Meh . . .||
Cincy was a game UM was supposed to win. It was closer than it should have been, but it went the right way in the end.
Seeing OSU get manhandled in the Horseshoe is a different kind of treat.
|09/09/2017 - 10:42pm||Piling it on.||
Columbus hurtin' tonight.
|09/09/2017 - 10:34pm||Yeah . . . I'm not.||
Sorry for going for being too understated. I guess it was too subtle for some people.
|09/09/2017 - 10:31pm||Messin' with the Bucks||
In their own house. Gotta love it. Keep the foot on the gas, guys.
|09/09/2017 - 10:29pm||Okay.||
I guess I was just thinking OT as in not directly Wolverine-related topic.
|09/05/2017 - 2:12pm||3-3-5 Yo!||
Yeah, I thought that was what I was seeing. Brutal when done correctly. Oh, GERG . . .
|11/24/2016 - 4:46pm||Not strictly UM . . .||
But I've always been partial to this one:
|09/17/2016 - 7:15pm||It could be much worse . . .||
You could be an Iowa fan.
|09/12/2016 - 2:46pm||Would've liked to see||
Would've liked to see Tate Forcier with Harbaugh as his QB coach. Kid was fun to watch. Ah well.
|09/11/2016 - 1:23am||Meh||
I've been to the Illinois stadium. They aren't that loud, even with the band and all. Too bad we lost that game. That was Tate Forcier's one year as starter. Came out looking pretty good, and turned ugly in the second half.
|11/12/2015 - 8:26pm||34-20 Michigan||
Michigan's offense struggles to get it in the endzone early on, and Indiana comes out hot. Fortunes reverse, however, as Rudock & Co. find their groove, and the Wolverine's D adjusts to shut down the Hoosiers.
|11/01/2015 - 9:28pm||So many||
So many of those 3rd down conversions by Minnesota were totally fluky or just perfectly executed. Gotta hand it to the Gophers, they played with heart. I kinda thought we'd have a fight on our hands with Kill retiring last week.
But the Michigan defense did not look lost in this game, even when they were getting beaten by a hair.
|11/01/2015 - 10:55am||Peppers=Tom Harmon 2.0||
Yeah. It could happen.
|11/01/2015 - 1:15am||I would have||
I would have been happy to take a win like this two weeks ago. Haha.
|11/01/2015 - 1:12am||Nothing||
Nothing is as bad as Bellomy at Nebraska. Nebraska basically changed their whole defensive game plan because they knew he wasn't going to complete a pass. Speight moved around in the pocket, got flushed out a couple times, but kept his feet under him. Just took him a couple drives to find his rhythm.
|10/19/2015 - 4:18pm||No . . .||
No, they are not.
|10/14/2015 - 2:07pm||My list||
Devin/Denard. Definitely. But especially Devin Gardner. Wish this was his 5th year instead of last year.
Devin Funchess (aka the other Devin)
Tate Forcier (not sure if he'd have lasted with is attitude, but if anyone could have straightened him out . . .)
Brandon Graham. He was a monster, and I guess not exactly "underused," but in a fully functioning non-3-3-5 defense . . . wowza.
Steven Threet? Um . . . yeah, he didn't function well in the spread option, but methinks he could have been good under Harbaugh.
|10/14/2015 - 1:59am||I don't think . . .||
I don't think the defensive debacle was due to anything inherent in the 3-3-5 defensive scheme. It was that GERG had never run a 3-3-5 and did not know how to run a 3-3-5. And RR, instead of letting GERG run whatever he was comfortable and most familiar with, because all of his other indespensible staff were 3-3-5 guys, forced GERG to run it. Result was massive confusion and sad kittens.
|10/10/2015 - 3:44pm||AHHHH!!!!||
The BTN mobile app streaming STINKS!!!!! It showed me the same 30 seconds of marching band about 5 times. I'm probably 10 minutes away from being actually "LIVE" right now.
|10/09/2015 - 3:21am||Keys to victory||
1) Score points
|10/08/2015 - 4:13pm||20-16||
|09/26/2015 - 11:58pm||Utes just made it . . .||
Just made it 62-13. These guys are looking like a top 5 team. I think they could play anyone at this point.
|01/12/2015 - 3:35pm||Ducks, 42-27||
I was pulling for OSU to beat Alabama just because I'm so sick of hearing how "the SEC is so elite no one can compete," but no way I want to see them win it all.
Seeing 'Bama and Auburn both go down to BIG was pretty sweet though . . .
|10/01/2014 - 1:47pm||Of course||
Yeah, of course they are given media training . . . but that doesn't diminish the fact that they represent well, and intelligently. Because ya know . . . "everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever."
|09/23/2014 - 6:06pm||I like Nuss||
