Time to see if the NCAA and/or Big Ten has any moral standing. If they're ever going to give a program the death penalty again, now would seem like the time to do it.

UMD may have caused McNair's death because of neglect, but it's not like they did anything truly heinous like paying him or his teammates for use of his likeness in branded merchandise or feeding him bagels *with* cream cheese.

I’d normally say Durkin’s ass is fired, but I’m curious why he hasn’t been yet.

I’m wondering if this is all so Maryland can build a case to fire him for cause and not pay him any buyout. It’s not like they have an Urban Meyer-level coach who they’d need to try holding onto at all costs even through a scandal. Durkin is absolutely expendable.

The entire staff should be fired immediately and if that means they are unable to field a team for the remainder of the season, then so be it. Death penalty for the program? Nope.

Scissor lifts scare me to death (having actually seen a construction worker fall to his death on one many years ago).  For ND to put a camera guy up in one in strong winds is beyond the pale.

Sometimes im not sure what most fans think the NCAA does.

Imagine an office setting with an oversight committee overseeing accounting to make sure nobody skims or cooks the books. Now Flo (Maryland) in accounting gets caught drunk driving and the rest of the office (fans) thinks the committe (NCAA) should terminate her. Its not what they do.

But also everyone is skimming and they arent doing anything about that either.

Well that sucks to say the least.  Excessive body temperature should be one of the easiest symptoms to remedy with a chill pool, ice bath, etc well within 15 20 minutes tops most likely sooner once they assessed his temp.   Big bucks coming from the university.    Not sure why some hysterics here are calling for the program to be shut down, coaches (what, shot?) fired, etc etc.   it was a horrific mistake on their part which showed a fundamental lack of knowledge on treating a heat stroke victim.
