Absolutely the first one was on Runyan for not sliding over quicker, but I do wonder if Evans was supposed to maybe chip in on that block; he ran right to the spot where both Runyan and Onwenu (?) met, and on the play before that ND had basically called the same play from the right side and gotten through with their end not being picked up by JBB because he blocked down.  My guess is both guys just screwed up, but maybe it was something with the line call that people weren't executing properly.

As for the second sack, I saw the same thing mentioned on Twitter and I largely agree Patterson should have gotten rid of the ball.  But the rush was on him quicker than I think he expected.  Again, I'm not saying the the offensive line did well; it didn't.

This OL can't pass pro for a West-Coast pro set offense - 3 reads and you will be sending Shea to the hospital in some game in the future.  Pep needs to dump that and perfect the spread stuff he came out with in the 3rd quarter.  Coaches need to adapt to our reality or go 8-5 again with a third string QB.

Coaches always talk about execution and obviously that matters but a huge problem with Michigan’s offense is that if one guy doesn’t execute almost perfectly, the chance of the play being good is very limited. They rarely let their athletes go do what they do and simplify. It’s like their hell bent and showing people how execution is done only to have players not be able to do it. Then they look around and wonder what happened.

Open it up. Hurry it up. Go for some big plays. Yes even against bad teams to show you can do it. Put some kind of fear in other teams and make them decent multiple things. Give your o some confidence. But nope, let’s just take it at them and show them we can do it even though they know what’s coming!

I disagree that one of the sack is on Runyan considering it's on Shea for holding onto the ball too long. It's supposed to be a quick hitting passing play and the ball never came out after 1-2 seconds.

Easy answer to the question in the tweet:

  1. Piss poor O-Line recruiting
  2. Piss poor O-Line coaching and development

Any more easy soft-balls you want to lob up?

Scuttled?  Jim just needs to get JM and take control of the game plan.  Pep is not going get it done.  Too f-ing NFL stubborn.  This is college football and no kids come out of high school ready to play pro-set NFL football.  Michigan needs to adapt to what players know and are capable of delivering near term.  Win today.  This is not the NFL.

You do realize that this is always Harbaugh’s offense when all is said and done, right? He’s the “offensive guru”. Pep can only operate within the lines set down by Harbaugh. This isn’t a plug for how great Pep is but rather a reality check...make no mistake, this is Harbaugh’s offense.

Grant Newsome’s injury really torpedoed things.  He should be starting as a RS Sr.

Now they’re probably going to cancel the RS on another promising OL in Mayfield.

Andrew Steuber is a RS Fr and not ready or still hurt.  Hudson is a RS Fr I think they have pegged for RT, Mayfield already discussed, Ulizio is done, who else is there?

Runyan is a guard.  Has a guard frame.  He is not a tackle.

Our offensive line sucked vs Shitbend.  If you look at week 1 allot offensive lines looked bad FL ST, Miami etc... Since the majority of HS football programs run the spread offense, you really don’t know what your getting especially at the tackle position.  Think about it the NFL has trouble drafting stud O tackles.  That’s why when there is a premium O tackle they get drafted so high.
