Thanks for posting, griff.
Helpful FYI - When adding pics, gifs or vids, hit the source button and change the height and width to 600 or lower for each value. This will keep the media within the post borders.

You're welcome, glad to assist.
I hope GMat and Brown stay on staff for many, many more years to come.

Whoa I forget he was still on staff

Mattison reminds me of all of the long dead Polish uncles from my childhood. I want him to live forever.
It still amazes me that he stayed on as just the DL coach when he could have been the DC at another D1 school or in the NFL.

He loves Michigan and he loves coaching the D Line. One of the reasons he stayed on was that he made a commitment to helping bring Michigan Football back from the RR years.
That job is not finished.

I know why he stayed, it's just rare these days.

Agreed; definitely rare these days. I think M culture in general, especially Harbaugh (and Hoke, for the most part, to his credit) engenders this type of institutional loyalty. Probably the fair pay for his value is a contributing factor -- being able to focus on what he loves (DL), and be paid more than most DC positions would pay, is a good thing. Also, the total package: living in AA with that whole M Football, UM benefits, salary, students, UM culture, etc., would be spectacular.
I would like to give him a big man-hug.

This story about Mattison and his desire to be near his daughter and grandchildren has stuck with me since he returned when Hoke called upon him. It's a great read and still relevant today.
