I am a believer that Michigan is going to have an epic season this year and would like to place a couple futures bets.
Has anyone used Bovada? Were you able to deposit and withdraw funds successfully? I tried to fund an account using my credit card and the card company did not approve the international transaction.

I’ve used Bovada and 5dimes, and while 5dimes had less juiced lines , I went back to Bovada because their mobile interface was lightyears better than 5dimes. I used to be in topBet but thankfully cashed out in time before they apparently stopped paying out last time I read
I used to have no problem depositing with a Visa but recently both Bovada and 5dimes are giving me kickback with that and I am thinking it may have to do with my bank being a credit union . So I got bitcoin via coinbase recently but I see even after they verify you that there’s some bullshit 28 day hold period before I can send my bitcoin purchases off . So tomorrow I think I’m going to email customer service at coinbase and see if they can expedite that, otherwise I am going to try purchasing bitcoin through the Cash App(fka Squarecash) as I don’t believe they have this type of hold period from what I read .
On a side note , last year I did the Friday night “best bets” threads for college and I plan on doing those again .

Did you keep a running tally of your picks from those threads? If so, how did you fare at the end of the season? Just curious, I have no plans or funds to join in.

Yeah, probably was just below 50% if I remember correctly. I would post that thread meant for everyone to participate and post their bets btw.

One of the worst things you can do is bet with emotion. If you can't be objective, probably best to not place the bet. Sports betting is about placing winning wagers, not being a homer.

I use Sportsbook - Bovada and 5 Dimes are both fine with the later having a money transfer process that is easier and far more juiced lines. We create variance models so we usually have five to six accounts going on multiple platforms. You can beat Vegas but the available volume you can do it on is not tremendously high in any one sport so you have to model them all. We model ten years worth of data including odds and results, individual level contribution and before and after for every team amd every match up. We do binary ensemble modeling and then bet on mid priced odds at an inherent rate of return. Normalizing data on six different sports and a huge numnber of leagues is an arduous task. If you don’t have model and just your gut - make it money you don’t mind losing.
