Thank you, I greatly enjoy your posts. It's nice to get a welcome from an MGoicon. I have been a voyeur here for about 8 years. First post ever, first home game at the Big House if I recall was about 1972, age 6 or thereabouts. Can't wait for this season, I think it is going to be special.

So I ran past Northwestern’s practice field today and they were going full pads, full contact, offense vs defense. Their first game is Thursday the 30th, but that’s only two days before ours.
Why are they so far ahead?

We were in Ann Arbor today and can report that football practice was actually happening. We drove by at 40 mph so I couldn’t gather much but to me they looked much smaller and slower. Sorry but that’s all I have for you

Camp "Tidbits"
1.) James Hudson is getting every opportunity to win the LT gig.
2.) The offense will be much much better.
3.) The defense may not give up a 1st down from the looks of it.
4.) #3 RB will not be Tru Wilson but it might be one of the GA kids.
5.) Dwumfour is a Mo Hurst clone. DL is deep, real deep. LB's are deep too.
6.) Shea is a playmaker like nobody we've ever seen. Reminds me of Manziel.
7.) We have 2 kickers who can hit from 60 and the punter is much improved and looks stronger.
8.) Higdon is the best RB we've had since Mike Hart.
9.) Not many FR will play this year compared to past years even with the revised RS rules.
10.) Breakout candidates on Defense are Josh Ross, J'Marrick Woods & Josh Uche
11.) On offense Cesar Ruiz (ALL BIG) & Nick Eubanks who is a matchup nightmare.
12.) You will see a lot of Ambry Thomas. Defense, KR & Offense.
13.) Ryan Hayes reminds me of Jon Jansen as a Frosh.
14.) German Green is 1lb heavier than Gemon Green.
15.) Michael Barrett looks like the viper in waiting to me.

I am a little concerned about our DE depth. Kemp is supposed to move inside (alone with DIB and Jeter) and their are rumors swirling around Vilain.
That leaves us with Paye, true freshman Hutchinson, and some guys who have received no mentions from coaches thus far.
It seems like an even bigger concern the following year when Paye and a second year Hutchison are likely starters with some developmental guys and true freshman as depth...luckily we have Brown and Mattison to work their magic.

What are these rumors about Vilain you speak of? I heard he was back over the summer looking great and ready to contribute this fall...have you heard something else?
I had read on this blog that there was uncertainties about Vilain and that this was also alluded in the HTTV. Otherwise, I know nothing but we could certainly use him.
Last I heard he was healthy and ready for fall camp.
That it good. It makes me feel much better about the future. I just heard Ron Johnson mentioned for the first time in a while!
Why have I seen so many people suggest he's leaving?
