Joey Velazquez Commits to Michigan
Does this warrant the "commits come in seemingly endless waves" yet or do we need another? Uh, anyway:

Velazquez is a 2019 safety sort who Michigan plans to play at viper, per Sam Webb, and was an Ohio State baseball commit. He evidently plans to play both sports at Michigan, which hasn't happened in quite a while.
As a football recruit, Velazquez is... nondescript, slotting in just inside the top 1000 on the composite and listing offers from Cincinnati and Indiana. But Khaleke Hudson wasn't even a consensus four star despite his rim-rattling dunk-tape; Michigan's requirements for viper often see them recruit guys the recruiting industry considers marginal tweeners.
More detail in a bit.
Watch the tape. This kid is a football player and an athlete. This is great pick up. Not to make it personal but if Lance Dixon goes to PSU I hope he gets envy a great viper career for JV.
Double D recruiting services has spent more time as any of the “major” services reviewing his film (twice) and has this kid as 4.5 star recruit.
Very interesting, does they have a website? I made a comment earlier this week about dropping ESPN in terms of recruiting rankings, they seem to have stopped putting any resources into it.
Would be interesting to discuss other recruiting services and whether they should replace ESPN on the composite.
Sorry, two thoughts on one comment and it jumbled the whole thing. I would like to amend the comment above to...
Do they have a website? LOL...
On a serious note, I made a comment earlier this week about dropping ESPN in terms of recruiting rankings, they seem to have stopped putting any resources into it.
Would be interesting to discuss other recruiting services and whether they should replace ESPN on the composite.
Interesting pickup, even more interesting if he sticks, but if he's projected to go in the first three rounds of the MLB draft I don't know that I'd get that excited about him making it here.
My thing is this, you have Lance Dixon and Marvin Grant both in state and both of them have offers. So if you can't get one then you should be able to get the other. Don brown can make a lot of average players look good, but he's not at BC anymore. He should be able to get a different caliber of player here. I said this this morning, but this seems like a huge reach by the staff. There's also the risk he could leave for baseball, so this makes no sense to me.
Let me ask you tho:
If guys like Velazquez, Branham, Rumler, Capenter and Newburg help us land guys like Zach, Jowon, Pais, Derrion, Micheal II, DeaMonte......etc.
Would it really matter if he bolts for the MLB?
Can we just knock the hell off with this boo hoo 3 star bullshit. I give you a Don Brown viper 3* at BC. This is from Twitter. It's a picture as I can't figure out how to embed twitter like we used to be able to. Don Brown ID's his talent. He knows who to take and who not to take. If he thinks this kid is going to be good, the kid will be good. Jeebus, you'd think we'd learn from Beilein about diamonds in the rough by now. System coaches recruit their systems. Let Don Brown do his thing. Joey will be a great player.
I remember when a poster caught hell from the proprietors for saying in a Hello post that a commit "looked as young as her daughter" or something to that effect. Now we have several posters basically saying this kid isn't worthy to play for Michigan and that Michigan can and should do better than this kid and we get crickets.
