Michigan vs Cincinnati basketball not happening?
I could've swore we had a home/home scheduled with them for this year and next, but I see they aren't listed on the schedule. Did this series get cancelled?
Michigan did recently add Air Force and Western Michigan to the schedule, which is much better than your SE Louisiana Tech States.
Nothing has been formally announced but with the move to 20 conference games and dates for several high-major opponents already announced (with none being UC) there is zero chance that game will be happening this season. It's odd, because I'm fairly certain the series has been pushed back a couple of times already and now it looks like it will never materialize.
That's too bad, I was looking forward to that series.
SE Louisiana Tech State has an RPI of 278! They aren't as bad as in years past. Now...NW Alabama A&M, well goodriddens!
Too bad. I prefer interesting matchups to cupcakes even if it's a L.
On a related note, anyone else been loving the ads on the site recently? Fisherman's hat - send me 20 please. Gentle Monster - WTF is that!? I don't click to find out for fear of seeing nothing but this ad forever...
I see breathable ice silk boxers.. ooo
and now a chest bag WITH USB CHARGING PORT!
but do they have a "life changing, quick draw horizontal fly" like Tommy John's?
The ads are being served by Google Adsense based on your browsing history and any other data Google has on you (subject to limitations set forth by the publisher).
So you must like fishing.
These ads are crazy next-level weird stuff. I don't see this stuff anywhere else and a lot of people here see the same ads, so it's not entirely based on my browser history.
I now see the breathable ice silk boxers and they look medieval!
How about the slide belt, which appears to include a knife?
I see the same. I can guarantee I've never browsed for boxers, ice or any other kind...
"Based on your browsing history and any other data Google has on you." That sentence would have sounded terrifying 10 years ago but now it just gets a nod.
The robots are winning.
I follow the Bearcats somewhat closely (used to live in Cinci) ---- per their boards, they think the game is off, at least for this year.
UC has 10 of their 13 OOC games scheduled for 2018-19. The Bearcat OOC schedule (below) seems to be fairly robust already. And given that UC played 6 "home buy games" last year, I'm not sure UC has "room" for Michigan:
1/2) 4-team Tournament in Florida with George Mason, Baylor, and Ole Miss.
3/4/5) home games against good teams: Ohio State, Xavier, and UCLA.
6/7) road games against good teams: Mississippi State and UNLV.
8/9/10) home games that are "buy games": NKU, Western Michigan and NC Central.
11/12/13) presumably more home "buy games."
I agree that both schools' schedules are "full" with respect to high-major competition. With the move to 20 conference games, 11 non-conference games should now be the max for Big Ten schools. Michigan has nine accounted for:
- Four high-majors (SCar/Prov, SCar, UNC, Nova) [yes, South Carolina twice]
- Three mid-majors (WMU, Air Force, GWash)
- Two buy games (Norfolk St, Holy Cross)
I would assume they will schedule two more low-majors to round out the schedule, once again leaving no room for a Cincinnati series that was originally supposed to be played at Fifth Third Arena in 2016 with a return trip to Crisler in 2017.
Good stuff - I just hope this game occurs eventually. It would be good basketball. U-M would no doubt have a solid fan turnout for the road game.
