For some reason I am having problems making this a link.

I enjoyed his stories. He will be missed. Rest in Peace

Yes - RIP Mr Bourdain

One thing that I always appreciated about him was that he never had a "holier than thou" attitude that many people do who mix television and the culinary world. He treated everyone with respect and seemed to relate to those in expensive villas the same as those in poor shacks. He's obviously been through some shit in his earlier adult life and it was great to seem him in his element for everyone to see. I don't know anyone else who has his demeanor, background and experience that can fill the niche he helped create.

Apparently he was going to out Kissinger and other globalists for what they do around the world.  Bourdain saw first hand the destruction.

He was elite at so many things - chef, writer, interviewer, entertainer. Sad to see him go. Hopefully, he will be able to help destigmitize mental health issues in his death. But he will be missed

Never been much of a "foodie" (I usually measure my enjoyment of dining out with the "Chipotle Test," which is "Am I enjoying this $X meal as much as I would a $8 burrito bowl at Chipotle?") but he really made me appreciate the whole process that goes into a meal, and even more, how inextricable food is from culture. It's impossible to separate one from the other-- you can't understand a place without understanding the food, and vice versa.

Loved the way he would just "take one for the team" when some tribal chief in a village somewhere would offer him something vile, knowing how much it would disrespect the whole culture if he said no. Braver than I'd ever be with food. Great spirit and bon vivant, under the money and fame, all people are just people with the same troubles. Sad end.

What’s somewhat shocking to me was his love for life and what it has to offer. He reminds me of my father in that way. My father suffered from depression his entire adult life and was hospitalized for it twice, yet he loved to eat and loved food and travel like Bourdain. Assuming Bourdain’s suicide was a product of depression, I think it’s unusual to have that kind of capacity for enjoyment while suffering from a deep depression. Makes me wonder if it wasn’t something else, like a terrible diagnosis.
