Ann Arbor tomorrow. Mullet Lake for two weeks, then fly to CA to drive my daughter from SF back to school. That should just about wrap summer up, and then football!
I used to go to Mullet lake every summer. Of course that was before responsibility set in and the parents stopped paying my way.
The Lone Ranger and Tonto sarted at a camp at Mullett Lake. It went to Detroit radio and the setting was moved out west when it became a tv show.
So I'm going to go with what I'm actually doing for a change. Going to a birthday party, then planning on seeing this:
And I must find a way to get me some BBQ this weekend....
click the profile and do yourself a favor. Cool stuff this week.
I saw it last night, you might be disappointed with the changes to Silver Samurai and Madame Hydra, but it's a quality flick and loads better than X-Men Origins. I didn't have high expectations and came away more than satisfied.
PS- Stay for the end credits.
You mess up Silver Samurai and I'm "eh." And Viper has had so many vesions, I can deal. I would be more worried how they deal with Shingen and Mariko. But I know it's not going to literally be the first Wolverine mini put to screen.
Funny review by the Detroit News guy....he complains that it doesn't take into account what happened in Avengers, or why it follows X-Men 3 and not Wolverine Origin or First Class (which I don't have to explain to you why that's stupid). Called it Wolverine in a James Bond movie...and the first time ever I heard a critic complain there weren't ENOUGH mutants. But then I thnk Tom Long is just getting lazy; his Star Trek Into Darkness review had the big spoiler in the review.
(For various reasons boring to anyone but me, didn't get to make it last night. But will still see it. I mean Hugh was on one of the talk shows and had a shout out to U-M's football team.)
to buy and set mole traps.
I am really excited about it.
You can probably tell from this post how incredibly excited I am about it.
the ones I get are rubbery, look a lot like artificial fishing lure worms. Dig a small hole in the mole pathway with a screwdriver, drop it in, cover it up. Soon, no more moles.
been using the "poison pellets" and getting nowhere. I believe I am using them correctly but this bastard keeps tearing my shit up. I am sick of thinking I have taken care of it only to have another area dug up the next day. I want a body this time. I want to look in his eyes and tell him he messed with the wrong man.
We've got a veritable Carl Spackler on our hands.
VC == Varmint Cong
If you catch two, make sure you send one back to "tell his friends..."
One thing about the poison if you go back to it is once you THINK you've killed it, or them, off... step down on all the tunnels they dig and go back to check periodically to make sure they don't come back. More tunnels = more poison needed.
Pro tip: Don't use them for fishing
I have to help my brother in law move...to Columbus...posbangs welcome...
I have some good jokes he can use...
be on commit watch!
My wife and I are hanging drywall for the first time. Yay for buying an old house (built in 1905).
USA basketball was having a scrimmage in Las Vegas and a young Air Force Airman dunked the ball wearing full BDUs and combat boots. From the looks of it, he was the size of a point guard. Can you imagine how he'd go if he had court shoes on??
He's in the Air Force.
I'm going to a Spin Doctors concert.

Just kidding, that would be crazy.
I actually have a wedding to go to Saturday.
Lots of hydrating today. Because i'll be feeling no pain tomorrow.
Looks awesome. I finished the John Muir Trail last week - the water was so clear it felt like you were looking at the bottom of rivers and lakes without any water in them.
Hung over at work! There will be no productivity today.
I am too old for this shit.
without confirmation that Fournette is on campus???

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyday, is the worst day of my life...until football season starts. Today is just another terrible day analyzing bridges. Wish I had something sweet planned, but I'll just be stuck in this hell hole Okemos with my toughts. This is a pos bang thread right? I haven't been pos banged in a year...
That's a pity posbang
ahhh, glad thats over with, I mean I'm sorry , that doesn't usually happen, it's just been so long....give me 15 minutes and I'll be ready for round 2 and it will be better , trust me.
Treat yo'self to a michelada (as a Bloody Mary substitute for brunch if you are so inclined):
RIMMING. LOL
^^^ Best comment of the day.
You can't drink all day,if you don't start in the morning.
Got to get up early to get laid by noon.
Need to change a cable box because it decided to stop working yesterday
and then MICHIGAN SUMMER BEERFEST tomorrow. Will I be trying to put a dent in the more than 800 beers? You betcha
my girl and I are taking the Harley down for the fest...will find a spot to hang out and have dinner / sober up for the ride home.
As of now, Michigan Brewers Guild lists 125 breweries OPEN in Michigan. My quest is to hit them all, and I'm currently at 105 (not counting many that have since closed). I'll never finish the quest of course...too many new ones, but you gotta have goals in life!
See both of you there. The list of beers that are going to be there is just insane. Lots of real good stuff. Are either of you enthusiasts? Very worth it to get in an hour early. Even more important during the Winter fest because it's smaller. Short's and Bell's usually kill it.
I don't have the "enthusiast" card. My GF lives about three minutes from Fifth Third Ballpark though, which is a nice advantage for the winter festival.
I plan to be in line fairly early to get in ASAP, and I'll be wearing this hat:
Nice! Yeah February's winter fest was my first as an enthusiast. It worked out well because we ran around to all the tents and got all the beers we wanted the most and the next thing we knew, everyone else was being let in. We just took it slow after that. Summer fest is great because it's spread out over two days and it's in a bigger area. I'll def be looking for that hat.
kind of a long shot, but then again the hat is not very common. If you see me, I will buy you a very small beer. :)
This weekend, my in-laws have decided to try an experiment wherein they relieve my wife and I of our children for the evening, better known as a "sleepover". Except for a few instances where this has been an emergency arrangement, they've never done this for fun before and my daughter in particular has wanted to spend the night at grandma's, so tonight is the night. I am pretty sure that this means my wife and I will sit in the family room recliners, strain to hear the sound of no impending disaster, and think, "Weird, very weird...."
The rest of the weekend will hopefully be spent in relative quiet - it's been a busy month, and this is the first weekend in July where there has not been a party or family event of some sort planned, so I am going to try to limit this to baseball, beer and the odd grilled food, but on a much smaller and less expensive scale.
