posting those names.
And then the Lions go do something reasonable, albeit in the 6th round, so Fuller's not likely to have a huge impact.
...from California...PA
Awesome name. Snoop Dogg approves.
Not graded on ESPN...
I've seen him in person 6-7 times. A average college WR...Greg Mathews, Roy Roundtree level impact.
"Meh" type pick to me. Especially with Swope on the board. Swope would be perfect in the slot.
The Lions took him w/the 171th pick.
Hard to top the Sam Martin pick at this point.
Thank God we picked up a good receiver, because we're gonna need him to play along with Calvin Johnson, Nate Burleson, Ryan Broyles, Brian Robiskie, Reggie Bush, Brandon Pettigrew, Tony Scheffler, plus the 9(!) other wide receivers we have sitting on the bench. I was worried we were gonna run out of targets to throw to.
Just came off the board to Arizona and Houston respectively.
Some were saying he may have moved ahead of Denard in the draft and wouldn't be surprised if he went as high as late 4th round.
He was drafted to play OG...not DT.
Big Will was ranked 414th, so take it w/ a grain of salt.

come off the board in the middle of the 6th round to Chicago & Arizona
187 | A+ |
Cardinals select: Andre Ellington, RB, Clemson
Undersized but tremendously explosive and productive, Ellington improves on the departed LaRod Stephens-Howling's skill set and may be the most talented back in Arizona from the first day of mini-camp. |
|
188 | B |
Bears select: Cornelius Washington, DE, Georgia
Washington is an excellent athlete and has the kind of explosion and long arms to challenge tackles. He needs polish and to up his on-field productivity, but he could find some early playing time rotating with Shea McLellin at the end spot opposite Julius Peppers.i-camp. |
He was ranked 286th by CBS Sports, but I think he's a good value/utility (special teams, can catch the ball or block) for a late 6th round pick.
Ranked 104, would have been a good value pick for the Lions at 199, IME
(Lions have pick #199), who would have been a reasonable pick for the Lions.
(rated 366th by CBS Sports)
Anybody think that in a couple of years, we'll be asking why we effectively traded Alabama's DT Jesse Williams for AppySt P Sam Martin and ND RB Theo Riddick?
Lions just don't seem in any way concerned about their offensive line or LB depth outside of their 3rd round pick. I suppose I shouldn't be concerned about it either.
They only have 6 (really 4 who've played) and have yet to replace the starter they lost.
They have. Ashlee Palmer and Tamir Whitehead will compete for his spot. How many linebackers do you think NFL teams carry? 6 is about right.
Justin Durant may have been blah, but he led the team in tackles last year. 82 total, 61 solo. Maybe Ashlee Palmer is good enough to pick up the slack of the teams leading tackler, but last year he played in 15 games and started twice, but logged only 9 tackles at the teams most productive position.
82 divided 16 = 5 tackles a game. 9 tackles in two starts equals 4.5 tackles a game. The rest he played on special teams.
Do tell me where the great difference is?
The difference is the year before he only had 3. Honestly I can't understand your enthusiasm about a perennial backup If you thought the guy who beat him out for the job was blah. I hope he succeeds, but I'd like them to have a better plan in place.
Hmm.....I was neither panicking, nor was I talking about Durants long term viablity for the Lions. I don't think the quality of their depth is sufficient, and I'd like it if they tried to improve their position instead of maintaining the revolving door of average talent we've had at LB for the last 10 years or so.
I know project guys usually don't contribute early, but with Molk in the 7th round last draft, and Marcus Cannon in the draft before there are exceptions.
App State and Illinois have more players drafted than Michigan at this point.
what.
