About this time last month, someone decorated the statue in Valparaiso gear in the run-up to the Spartans' game against them in the NCAA Tournament as well - (LINK)
"Jourdan Rasmussen, a 23-year-old student at the MSU College of Law, said after restoring the Spartan statue he's "never been prouder to be a Spartan."
Imagine that your proudest moment in your college career is removing the gear of Valparaiso University from your beloved statue.
As for this incident, I think Nick Baumgardner has a good perspective on things:
That Spartan statue sure washes up well ... was vandalized for the 4,746,363rd time (approximately) this AM bit.ly/Z9ohW8

Fun for fun sake . . . post security around it -- if it is such a big deal. Just sayin'!
more computer skills than I (if I had any, I'd do it myself) add a couple of burning couches in the background?
Would be suitable for framing then.
'Vandalism, beautiful as a rock in a cop's face.'
that sticker was in a lot of kurdt cobain pictures...
Lmao they flipped their shit on the RCMB. Relax sparky...the paint comes off.
how freakeskly long those spartan arms are?
I mean, they're l o o o n g.
I'm fascinated by them.
He also looks more like a russian bath house attendant than a Spartan but who's judging.

was to equate this to couch burning. Only slightly changed by the fact that it's a regular target and isn't the worse for wear.
The idiot who did this doesn't speak for our fanbase. This is stupid, sophomore shit. It was dumb when they spray-painted the Diag M green literally the week after it had been reinstalled after being cleaned. And this is no less idiotic.
We can do better than to deface our rivals' landmarks. Period.
sophmoric? well he probably was a sophmore...
Though outraged, they seem to think that this elevates their status with us. They appear to feel that whoever did this, be he/she a college professor, a student, or a high school football equipment manager, speaks for the entire fan base and that this somehow makes them our biggest rival. In other words, they are giddy, cause someone knows they exist.
Also, they are pissed. Somehow a block M being painted over their statue, which was quickly painted over is an abomination, yet no one mentioned their perclivity to paint our M green when they come to town, or would do so without loyal Wolverines camping out there to protect it.
