Saturday's "What are you drinking?" and St. Patty's Day thread

Submitted by Chester Cheetah on

Yes, I know that St. Patrick's Day isn't until tomorrow but I believe most people will be celebrating it today since tomorrow is a Sunday and a hangover tomorrow is much better than one on Monday.

Right now I'm in Chicago drinking coffee about to get my day started with some eggs, bacon and Glenlivet 15.

So what are everybody else's plans for the weekend and what sort of beverages will you be enjoying?

Also, I saw on Twitter a quote from Trouba: We'd like to avoid playing on Sunday.  It's St. Patrick's Day.

I like the way he plays and thinks.

to start. But we have phenomenal microbrews here, so switching up after downing my duty as a 'person of Irish heritage'.

2 cans Guinness, now into the Jameson. Then St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout (on tap). Tonight going for a local porter then Jameson (hot - it is snowing) to finish the evening. Going to try to find the Michigan hockey on a feed somewhere somehow.

Maybe it's time we accept that Wisconsin is kind of a good basketball team?

Have Indiana down 7 with 16 to go.

EDIT: Gulp. 7-0 run. Oladipo is amazing. Sorry Trey, but he's gotta be POTY.

Rather be on BA

Picked up a 6 pack of Bells Expedition Stout and Goose Island 312 wheat.  A nice contrast between the two.  The Expedition  is one of the most wild stouts I have ever tasted, I may like it better than Founders Breakfast stout.

I have just finished up studying for the last 3 hours and will likely half watch tv and half study for another hour or two until my buddies are free to celebrate St Pattys day.

Annual pre-season scrimmage for the hs lacrosse team I coach and then showing up to the baby shower for my wife. Twins so I am sure tons of stuff to take home.

Very cold and busy day. Will have to open a few beers later tonight.

piloting the drift boat down a twisty, turning west Michigan river.  We landed a couple steelhead and a bunch of nice trout - browns and rainbows.   Sipped on Woodford and Shiner bocks all day, and I mean all day.Laughed and laughed and laughed some more.

Goddamn, wha a great time.  Now a trip to the hot tub to soothe aching back and shoulder muscles with a neat Maker's.

What a great fucking day.
